Mine will be at my FFL tomorrow according to UPS, but I won't be able to get there until Saturday. #827

Anyone hear from Denny about the LPK's? I plan on ordering my upper sometime next week and will have to move on. Where is everyelse getting their LPK's?
Edit...just got off the phone with Denny's and they are waiting on hammers but will put together some kits to help us out. Robbing Peter to Pay Paul...

We (AGP) are going through the list in order but we are combining shipping. So if order #1 is shipping to Joe's Gun Shop we cherry pick out all the orders going to Joe's and they go together. Since gas prices have gone through the roof since these orders were placed, UPS has raised rates a good 30+%. We can't really charge people more than they agreed to pay and it's insane to try and contact everyone to ask if we can charge them a few more bucks for shipping. So by combining shipping it should work out pretty fair. I hope nobody gets pissed off, we're doing our best.

Another note. We are out of LPK's and we can't find them in stock at dealer cost anywhere. So those orders are being held up for now.

And we thank you for it!

You took on a big logistical job, and BATF actions delayed it for a few months.  I used to work in shipping and receiving, and I'd probably be ready to strangle somebody by now.

We've waited this long, a few extra days isn't likely to kill anybody.

Might be better to let the folks get their lowers adnlet them do their own LPK's than waiting some more...

Order #1305 placed today, for receiver and LPK. :)

The delay to get more LPK's is fine as well. It's not like the other parts are going to be showing up at my door tomorrow anyway.

Edit: or even three months from now, considering how backordered my preferred upper maker is... ;)

Picked up my lower today, Cav Aid #005!

I even got a free chuckle at the gun shop while waiting to be cleared.

Guy runs in 2 minutes before the shop closes.

Counter guy asks the customer if he knows what he wants because there is no time to browse.

Customer says "Yep!" and grabs a Glock +2 mag extension and promptly pays for it.

Counter guy asks if there is anything else he can help him with.

Customer stops half way to the door, comes back to the counter and asks: "You know on the Glock 17 how the mags are stamped 9x19?  Well, I can only get 17 rounds in mine, not 19, do you think something is wrong or will they break in?"

I started studying the ceiling tiles and the counter guy explains what 9x19 actually means without even a hint of condescension or scorn.

Customer says thanks and walked out both happier and better informed than when he came in.

I was amused by the question and impressed by the professionalism of gentleman behind the counter.

Same here, although it would have been nice to see him offer the guy a discount on their "Intro to Firearms" course, or at least hand him a training brochure.....

For CA residents:  AGP is now taking our orders for Cav Aid 2008 lowers with set-screw type fixed 10rd mags (C-Products 10 Round Aluminum Magazine, with Magpul Follower) for $175 out-the-door.  Kevin had given us through Sunday, June 22, to place our orders.  Place your order on their website with "Cold War Shooters, CA" as the destination FFL in the notes.  The website will still tell you standard pricing, but they will run our cards at $175.

The FFL transfer will be $50 per person paid to Cold War, for as many receivers as you want during the same purchase.  Arrange for further in-state transfers with Cold War if you can not pick up from them directly, as AGP will not be shipping to multiple CA FFLs.

ETA: I forgot the $9 shipping. So $175 + $9 ($184) to AGP for one receiver, $50 to CWS for as many receivers as you buy.

I contacted Lauer Weaponry about Duracoat color matches for the Cav Arms collection and got this encouraging response...

"Greetings!  We have matched all the Cav Arms colors.  They will appear in our next catalog.  For now you can order by calling us at 1-800-830-6677."

My upper is going to match my OD lower so sweetly.

Nice! Mine won't be for a while, but I want to play with a Glock 17 and get the frame done in the same dark earth as my 9mm Cav-Aid AR will be.

Here is one for the group. Mine arrived at my FFL last Thursday and he told me that he needed to clear it with the NJSP per the store owners request. I objected and stated all the intelligent reasons why. So today, the day he was to call the NJSP's he seemed pissed when I called to see what the verdict was.

The Fudd had just gotten off the phone after getting a run around from the NJSP. It took three different SP's to finally realize that it didn't matter what it was made out of, it is still a basic AR. He couldn't believe that the SP were sooooo clueless on the matter. And the parting shot, the SP asked why would anyone want to buy a plastic lower, it'll only break after the first time he shoots it.

Question: What is the issue sidearm of the NJSP?

(i'm asking because i legitimately don't know, but i thought it was either a glock or a sig, so..... there's a 50% chance his statement was ironic)
