Get a pic of it at least set up like that, and it'll go up along with my own haraam LaRue mounted OOKCWAR, until someone gets us a non haraam pic to put up there.

Gentlemen. Question.

There's an item mounted at the 12:00 position on a number of these rifles, where a front BUIS would be mounted. It seems too small for a light or IR laser, and too big for a BUIS. it looks like a mount for an NV device maybe? What is this?

ETA - Answer below, thanks. Uni-max IR laser

That's a Uni-Max infrared laser. Designed to go on a pistol, it works fine on a rifle too.

The Marine Air Support Squadron (MASS-2) down the road from my unit (MACS-6) used the ICWAR (Improved Continuous Wave Acquisition Radar). Still looked identical to the pic you posted. Their entire IHAWK system , I understand, was an army hand-me-down.

Being an air intercept unit, we used the Westinghouse AN/TPS-32 3D search radar, plus the older AN/TPS-22 2D. I think the -22 had different range parameters, which is why we still used it. There was also the UPS-1, which, IIRC, was used to decode encrypted military transponders and prevent us shooting down a friendly or neutral.

Playing with Cerakote colors today for some upcoming projects.

My wife is thinking about shooting her She-CWAR's furniture a dark pink.  Rail is factory engraved (CWE1 top female) and can't be colored.  Furniture is FDE now, but she's decided she hates it.

I sprayed a mag for a color test.  What do you think?  Cerakote color "Sig Pink" or not?

It's tight.

But, shhhh, it's a secret!

Regarding the She-CWAR, I thought I was pretty clear.

The rail will not be changed.  She's thinking about coloring the furniture that color of pink.

The rail is on the darker side of the DDC batches, with quite a bit of red in it.  She thought a deep pink would be a good match.

She also wants me to hit the rail sections and the flashlight if I can.

The light's tricky, though, because it's riveted together I don't think I can really take it apart.  That means a lot of fine detail masking, which is super annoying.
