I believe this has happened before. Skyshark thought he would win cwe1 or cwe2. He was given the choice of getting a guaranteed spot but he HAD to come in 1st place, or take his turn on the standby list. The penalty for jumping up in line and not winning was a lifetime ban from cw. He chose to wait. He didn't win, so waiting was the better option.

We normally encourage the regionals to let a lot of new runners in, with this being the first one for Texas, it is vets first so they can work the bugs out and find out how to run a cola warrior event.
That is also the reason it is limited to 50 runners instead of the normal 75. There are lot of other events to go to and also you should still show up.
There seems to always be time to run a few extras at the end and that will give you vet status. If you really want to be part of cola warrior, it's not hard. Just come out.

If you can't make it to this one, You better make it for CWE, in Appomatox Va in beginning to mid Sept. If you PM me, I will save a spot for you as my personal +1

Yep.  Might even be a couple of open spots for newbs at CWC if vets don't snap them up.  And there's always last minutes drops, life happens. A man wants to Cola Warrior bad enough, he'll find a way.

Believe me I want to go to CWE it just always seems to fall on when Im at work. I work on a tugboat so I can't just take a weekend off I have to get the ok from the office, I have to get a relief to cover for me, and it's possible the boat will be offshore with a tow going somewhere.

Thanks for the offer of the +1. When the date gets set in stone Ill look at my schedule to see if it will work out but so far they haven't.

I'll come in dead last anyway.
