So I've been living under a rock. I have never watched a 007 film.
Where should I start?
Will I want to purchase a Walther after watching?
Thanks in advance for the help

I would start from the beginning in your case to see how things have changed in them over the years.  They ramp up the cheese to critical mass over a period of time, then a good serious one comes out and the cycle starts all over again.

Skyfall is my favorite by quite a bit.

You've been under a rock since 1963?

I suggest you start at the beginning and watch them in order -  Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, etc.

GoldenEye was also my favorite.

Then probably goldfinger, the man with the golden gun, moonraker, casino royal, tommorow never dies, and skyfall.

Though I prefer Sean Connery as James Bond, I always liked Live and Let Die with Roger Moore the most.

Start at the beginning.

Casino Royale thru Skyfall are the best and I never thought of Craig as Bond material.

For me, Skyfall, GoldenEye, Never Say Never Again, and Live and Let Die are pretty good. The last one is for Jane Seymour.

You have been living under a rock.

The best advice is to watch them in order.

My favorite old Bond movie is Dr. No. It wasn't the best movie overall, I just remember watching it with my dad when I was a kid. That gave it nostalgia points for me!

Favorite Bond movie overall is SkyFall. Craig plays a brilliant Bond.

Craig plays a cool Bond. Dr. No when Bond smokes the guy with the suppressed .25acp. Connery was cold as shit there.

Timothy Dalton was pretty much how I pictured Bond would be from Fleming's books.

At least in The Living Daylights.

Plus JDB was in it.

I'd suggest leaving all the Roger Moore,  Pierce Brosnan and Tim Dalton films to last on your list.

Watch Connery,  Lazenby and then Craig's movies.

ETA

Dalton was very good in The Living Daylights so you can insert that somewhere.

Looks like you'll be back under your rock watching Bond movies for quite awhile.

I have an obvious favorite, but start with Dr. No and go from there.  Some movies are great, some are borderline terrible but its always a fun ride.

I think all of the Bond actors were pretty carefully selected and good in their own way.  I thought Brosnan got the short end of the stick for getting a series of movies where the cheese was nearing critical mass.  He would have been great in a serious one.

Darby O'Gill and The Little People.
Not a Bond movie, sorry, a Disney film and one of Connery's first big films.

What was the name of the one with 'Pussy Galore' and the aerobatic plane women?
Think I was 8 when it was on tv, turned red every time her name was spoken!
Glad I got over that.

For Sean Connery, just about any of them! (partial to "Diamonds are Forever" for some great action, hot redhead & Blofeld badness)

I also rather enjoyed "The Living Daylights".

Great action scenes, Pretty Blonde Bond Girl, Bad Assed Assassin Henchman ( Necros )

Maybe a little dated with Soviets in Afghanistan & the heroic Mujideen, but maybe just "back to the future"
