So are we gonna get Valery Jarret or Kamala Harris as a replacement?

Prayers for his family and the nation. We all know what Obomination is going to try and pull now.

Obama will appoint the first black, transgender, immigrant Supreme Court nominee. Obama isn't appointing anyone. No way the Senate confirms in this environment. Whoever wins in 2016 will end up appointing Scalia's successor. I'm not as confident that the senate republicans won't break out the presidential kneepads for obama...just like they have on just about everything else. RIP Obama has literally nothing he can trade for a nomination approval at this point. The only way he gets an appointment through is by picking the Democratic equivalent of a Stevens or Souter, and even then I don't think the Senate would be interested. |

RIP Justice Scalia
He was an insightful, thoughtful jurist, his opinions and decisions shall be missed by this nation. |

I am sure McConnell and the Vichy Republicans will ensure a good justice gets appointed.

I don't do the social media thing anymore, so I hope some of you are capturing the liberal left's reactions, which I'm sure will be quite hateful. Hateful? They just got Christmas in February. Right now they're trying to figure out if they'd prefer Eric Holder or Al Sharpton. That's not inconceivable, and would be tantamount to a declaration of war. |

R.I.P Scalia ...
We may be screwed every which way, but it's going to be a fight to keep Obama from putting a Socialist/Communist on the court. The Republican Senate needs to stretch this out over the next 11 months until next year before confirming another nomination. |

Damn
I guess we should be grateful for all the good he accomplished. RIP judge |

Time to stock up on pre-ban moving boxes. They aren't going to let us leave much longer.

wonder what kind of wise protected class snowflake we will get next

I feel a little shitty for my response - a great man dead, and I'm selfishly worried about the void he leaves as much as anything else.
Knowing Justice Scalia, I hope he would understand the compliment implied - the full knowledge of the bulwark he provided for so long. Prayers for him and his family, and thanks for all he did for this Republic. Would that we could find his equal, but I am less than sanguine. |

I do not know about the rest of you, but tomorrow I am taking my vulgar ass to church to pray for the future of this nation and my family.

You know, this could be a great campaign piece for Republicans if they uncuck themselves for a little while.
Think about it. If Senate Republicans don't roll over and confirm whatever Marxist Obama sends them, whoever the Republican nominee is can use the imminent SCOTUS nomination as a HUGE campaign tool. All the base will get out to vote in November to make sure Hillary/Bernie doesn't get to choose Scalia's successor. |
