Her cousin Stephanie Landon, 20, said King loved to drive on two wheels.
“He was one of those kids who would ride anything,” she said. He's such an enthusiast, he even loves to ride other peoples motorcycles! |

So that's why he tried to take the dirt bike. To recover what's his. I thought the initial story was to cover up a hit and run.

They were too lazy to work for a dirt bike so they stole one. "Teens" like this are a burden on society and make life harder for people that do work hard for what they have. The thieves got what they deserved and the parents of these assholes don't deserve a dime.
Not guilty |

Outrageous! The minivan guy was an idiot, running over a guy on a dirt bike on a main very busy road like Montauk highway,
He should have followed the bike to a quiet side street before running him over! |

I would have pursued while on the phone with 911, but wouldn't have intentionally rammed the bike (though accidents happen...).
That said, flags half-staff for a dead thief? |

first-degree reckless endangerment
I hope that's a misdemeanor Only thing he did wrong was to start loading the bike instead of rendering aid, and it isn't morally wrong... just a legal bad move. Would be not guilty if I was on the jury |

Witnesses described a violent scene in which the two young men were knocked off the bike and the driver of the minivan attempting to load the dirt bike into his vehicle while the two young men lay critically injured in the roadway. How pathetic. This country is so fucking backwards. A couple of minority punks steal someone else's property, and when the owner gets it back, they are charged and the shitstains are memorialized with flags at half staff and stupid quotes about "yo he'd ride anything". I hope the guy walks. He did the world a favor, I don't care how young they were. View Quote Eta: I might should stop saying shit like that online...God forbid I have to shoot someone in self defense and some shitbag lawyer dig up comments. |

Good hit. Only way it would be better is if the motorcycle was carted off by the owner and the shit-heel thieves laid in the ditch and died slowly and agonizingly alone. Their bodies would only be discovered days later after one of the vultures feasting on their rotting carcasses drew the attention of a passing driver.

think of all the victims down the line the minivan driver saved

Incidents like this are why I don't complain about getting a summons to jury duty.

I'd reject any plea deal the state offered and go to trial. I'd bet anything a jury would acquit or be hung at the least. No way a jury is going to fault someone for going after their stolen property....people are tired of bad guys getting away with their bullshit. Not only was he trying to get his stolen property back but the accident was probably caused by the theif's reckless driving, not the bike owner.
|

Apparently loving to ride anything on two wheels gives you the right to steal them too, yes?
While killing them certainly wasn't the right answer, i find it hard to feel sorry for a couple of thieves who, if left alive, would have likely gone on to be predators of other people's property later in life. Here's a pro tip to the family: Raise your kid to respect other people's property and they won't get killed riding a bike they stole. |
