I would think "porn" would be pronounced "pawwwn", like "Bawwwston".

I meet a group of friends in Vegas every year.  One guy is from Boston.  As soon as we got in to the hotel he started excitedly telling us about a tour of "Porn Stars, ya know the tv show."

I never watched it, but hey, I'm game for anything involving seeing porn stars in Vegas.

So, we go on this tour of Kounts Kustoms, some fish tank place, a toy store, a baseball card shop and, to my disappointment, a pawn shop.

Apparently, in Boston pawn is pronounced porn.  Don't be fooled like me.

And, for the OP, each place had one of the little stars present.  Most were just a means to get you into their gift shop and buy stuff.  Maybe if I watched the shows I might have enjoyed the tours more.

Not always. Many in New England "warsh" their hands before having a dinner of "pizzer & salad."

I've been to the Antique Archaeology (American Pickers) store in LeClaire. The place is really small. They must have warehouses and internet operations somewhere else.

The short fat one is a douchebag.

West End Salvage is right across the road from me. They usually host our Christmas Party. Much cooler dudes and a better show.

A guy I know was called and ask to bring down some artifacts he has to be on the show. He disinclined to acquiesce to their invitation.

Well, if you watch Fast And Loud, you'll know them...Dennis Collins is Richards buddy, and a major car collector, so he's on a lot, and Collins Brothers have donated stuff for charity builds on the show...

Yeah, a couple of times, it can be packed though....it was good, enjoyed the food, and good beers, and usually lots of eye candy...

Take a look at the merchandise area if you want a laugh...they want $30 plus for a hat...and shirts...crazy...no wonder Rawlings is so wealthy...although, I guess make the $$$ whIle you can...

Notice how almost nobody is saying that they went to Hardcore Pawn?

I had business meetings in Detroit a few years ago. I stopped by to look at the place. Just a big pawn shop with lots of crap. Nothing special and nothing worth going back for. I said hi to the owner as I walked out.

I don't know if that's 100% true. I went to check out the shop with my gf at the time and her sister and they were setting up for a shoot. They asked us if we wanted to be extras but told us we would have to stick around for about 3-4 hrs before they even started filming and couldn't leave until they were done. We said fuck that. They definitely cherry pick attractive people for the background though.

Was no line to get in when we were there. Everyone else is right, the place is really small. It's about 48% museum, 50% gift shop and maybe 2% pawn shop.

Do they really use a soundstage?  First I've heard that.

Stopped by the one in Nashville.  It's small too.    It became very clear to me......They aren't making their money selling junk, they are making their money selling T shirts, coffee mugs and books.

No they are making money from the multitude of other businesses they own. Frank has a bar the size of a city block.

This is really the only person that I'd want to meet from Pawn Stars.

LP and I ran into Frank Fritz at Hy Vee one time. I said to LP in what I thought was a quiet enough voice "look, thats that Frank guy from American Pickers" and he heard me and said back, "Yeah it's me" lol.

Also, Les Baers factory is not too far from the Pickers place.

Kinda sorta.  My ex and her sister are both very attractive.  Ever since then, I've paid more attention to the background extras on the show and there are ALWAYS hot chicks in the background.

I was in Vegas a few years ago with my brother, he wanted to check out the places on the show.

Pawn stars- saw Cory
Ricks rest- saw most of the crew, no Rick but his wife was there. (Cowboy is just as grumpy as he was in the show)
Counts- cool place, saw the rollie(sp) detailing a car

All of them were really nice, interesting to see in person.

Didn't realize that-I'm in Le Claire at least once a year taking pictures of the eagles at the dam, always looking for interesting side stops or trip improvers if the light is bad or birds aren't cooperating. Do they do tours?
