Jesus H. Christ. I go to Lake Tahoe for two days and look what you guys do.
Not that anyone cares, but I guess it's my turn to chime in. Is there a written rule that says disputes / issues with GB or the mods should be kept private? If there is, then shame on you SA. If there's not, then what's the problem? That is what seems to be the issue at hand here. Going after spots of "trouble" instead of just things that really violate rules without question. Seems like that's one of the growing pains of the board. In a small community, mods can be a little more liberal in the way they enforce the rules, and that actually works [b]better[/b] than a strict "by the book" enforcement policy. However, when you start growing as quickly as this place has, I think you have to be a little more careful in enforcement. Else, you end up with situations like this. A good example is DonR's comments about losing $60. With a small user base, everyone would know said user is a troublemaker if that is indeed the case. With the sort of volume this place gets, there's no way I can read every post. All the majority of people get to see is: "Hey, maybe you shouldn't do everything behind closed doors?" "Shut up or you're banned." Can you see, DonR, how that would sort of give people the wrong idea? All that being said, this is just another issue that will pass soon enough. Nothing wrong with a little calm discussion about it. |

JESUS H CHRIST ON A POPSICLE STICK!!! (Fletch) What the hell is wrong with you people... 1) Steyr I said to email me several times. I knew you would pull this because you both crave attention and wish to rally people to your banners. For this I am going to lock your wife's account since it's really YOUR account now. Again, feel free to take this up through email if you wish. 2) As far as I have seen you haven't apologized for your outburst, which is the reason for the banning. I've never forced people to like each other, but rants like that are way above and beyond acceptable. Keep the hate inside, it'll keep you warm... If you had emailed me and apologized for the outburst, stating it was just an emotional response, there would have been a totally different outcome. 3) A topic was locked, topics get locked all the time. So now people are advocating that type of reaction for a locked topic? Think again people there is a right and wrong way to handle things. 4) BOTD will no longer be tolerated. I will update the ConductCode as well as the Membership Agreement so things are very CLEARLY stated. I have tried to let you guys have this bit of fun, and I always get burned in the end. It's just not worth it anymore... 5) David (Hineline) has had a "checkered" past with us here. Comments to the effect that this place sucks and so forth had been made. I honestly feel he has come a long way and has been enjoying things lately. I hold no personal grudges, although others do. (Hard to ignore years of abuse at times.) Either way the comments by Don were emotionally charged to represent this and will be dealt with offline. I'm sure it was more of a warning... but that's my business to deal with. 6) Abusive responses to any of this crap are a bit much. It's one thing to question them and if they were made in jest or seriousness, but to again jump all over someone is not the proper answer. (You can't just beat the shit out of someone on the street because they said something rude... you'll end up in the slammer!) 7) I am closing this post because it does nothing for the site but instigate more arguments. If you think differently, try filtering through the 5 pages already posted. STEYR feel free to email me to discuss this, as well as anyone else here who would like to do the same. Those who have emailed, thanks for piling it on... heehee |

Santyth, you are absolutely correct. I completely forgot the fact that there are many members here who haven't been here long enough to remember Hineline's blatant contempt for the board and the members. His habit of finding a thread attacking a mod, the site, or even GoatBoy, and then dog piling on just hit me wrong. I should have handled it differently, and I admit it. Hell, I'll send him his $60 back out of my own pocket.
