so i brought home one tonight, played with it and me scar together, so lets compare SCAR + i like the scar sights better, 1x7 twist, trigger is crisper (although its been broke in and the ACR has not), push pins are easier to move, side folder makes it easier for storage in my safe. ACR + looks so much better-SCARs are UGLY, love the handguard on the basic-i would rather have it than the advanced handguard, nice hardcase, better mag, love the grip, pins will never loosen on accident, THIS THING HAS SOOOO MANY SLING POINTS, the barrel removal is the greatest, love the feel of the stock, don't miss the LOP adj as its right on. too new to tell on trigger, i have had a masada poster in the office for like 4 years, so i knew i was buying one as soon as they came out, i got serial # 46. not worried about the lack of chrome lining, i heard they are Nitride Treated and that should last as long, BUT i wanted 1x8 or 1x7 but down the road i will buy a 14.5 barrel or SBR it I'm sure. So Bryan, since I'm fortunate enough to live in the peoples republic of maryland, how about knocking $399.00 off since the mag is a no go here?? making it a cool $2000.00 and I'll cover shipping of course? I to am on the fence, I was leaning towards the SCAR, as I can get a pretty decent deal from an acquaintance, and the whole 1/9 isn't that big of a deal, but I would like a folder! |

Did you get the basic model? Real operators would get the "enhanced real operator" model!

I think the sig feels funny I sold my 556 looking to get something piston driven that does not have a giant claw extractor but feels like a AR ...?
Quoted: Quoted: how does it feel ? have you shot the sig556 ? Quoted: Quoted: I have to fingerf#*k one before I drop 2399.99 on that deal.. I made that mistake with the Sig556 ... I handled and shot a full auto one last year at the AAC shoot, I have it on vid but youtube is down. It felt really nice, those guns were put through Hell that day, tons of suppressed FA fire, I don't remember seeing any fail but they were given breaks and cleaned every now and then. ..and yes I've owned 2 Sig 556s |

He has a SCAR already

It's probably a good gun, but for the money, I'd much rather have a SCAR |

Before you guys give him any grief, The ACR and SCAR that he bought run the same price. So its not completely out of the realm of what people will pay. Except this the BASIC ACR... no rails, fixed stock. And that shitty barrel..... Can't change the grip (though I happen to like it... still... you advertise the most modular rifle and then take a step BACKWARDS on customizability). The need better barrels (1/7 please), a lower price, And something better than plastic sights on a $2K+ rifle. |

.................. SBR http://photos.imageevent.com/smglee/ss10/huge/P1030403.jpg ................... that looks to me like a typical AR barrel with a piston assembly on it and a breech type collar (and a different front end which is just a screw on item), which is all fine and makes perfect sense to do. What makes the ACR barrel proprietary and 'completely different'? (besides the magic coating I mean) why can't WOA/CLE/etc just mount on a piston assembly and collar? the base of that barrel looks the same. |

i'll be excited to see it!

That's like buying a Ford Focus for $50,000. It might be a nice gun, and it may work well and have great features... but it's just not worth the coin, IMHO. except that the ford focus is a POS it'd be more like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission with a higher sticker price. |

I had a gut feeling Ghetto was going to be one of the first on this website to get one.

The need better barrels (1/7 please), a lower price, And something better than plastic sights on a $2K+ rifle. A base model of a brand new coming out at an exorbitant price, what's new? The AR is only as cheap as it is because it's been out for 50 years in varying forms. I'm disappointed too, but the price will come down. Ghetto just likes being that first kid on his block with a new toy. He could wait 2 years, but paying the extra $1k is worth the 2 years of bragging rights to him. Bushmaster fixed the 1/7 issue: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010/02/08/bushmaster-quietly-adds-17-twist-rate-to-acr/ Grip issue http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010/03/31/remington-acr-multiple-lower-receivers/ This is the base model, future models will have rails, folding stocks, etc... standard. But until then, pride of ownership is the biggest piece of the price. |

While I don't work at a chemical plant, I did order an ACR (at dealer cost) this morning through an FFL acquaintance.
Figured I'd buy it now otherwise, I could end up paying $2685 (or more) when the Obama ban hammer drops. |

Something just occurred to me.... with the position of the charging handle, I think mounting a PEQ unit on the top rail is gonna be a problem.....

For $2500 I better get a damn folding stock That picture makes me want to get ghey for a ACR. |
