Let's say you have to choose between a 10mm pistol (max capacity is actual standard capacity or 15+1, whichever is lower) or a 9mm pistol (max capacity is actual standard capacity or 16+1, whichever is lower).
You have an unlimited supply of the pistol's ammo. All accessories available for one pistol, are available for the other pistol. Assuming you can only have this one pistol (and unlimited replacements of said pistol) which do you choose? ETA: And what's the pistol of your choosing? |

IBTP 9MM Meh, I wasn't going to do a poll, but I guess I have to, now. |

So basically you are asking if someone prefers 9mm or 10mm and which pistol they prefer for said caliber.
9mm M&P
Faster follow up shots. I put my money in multiple hits on target rather then a 1 shot stop. YMMV |
I just ordered a P16-40 Tactical, and have a 10mm barrel on the way. I'm back in the 10mm business, bitches!
How is this even a question to consider?
Everyone knows that 10mm produces a mini mushroom could with every press of the bang button. |
If I am carrying a full size pistol, its a 10mm Glock... anything else and your going to see me in a sub-compact 9mm or ..380 pocket pistol

I voted 9mm before I read the OP.
After reading the OP, Bren Ten with unlimited ammo ftw! |
Quoted: 9mm M&P Faster follow up shots. I put my money in multiple hits on target rather then a 1 shot stop. YMMV Yeah, maybe a tenth of a second faster |

I know this well. This will wind up being a 12 page Ron Paul thread or something. I love this place though. |

I had one and sold it when financial difficulties cropped up many years ago. I regret it, for me that's the one that got away. I WILL have another however. |

HK MP-5 in 10mm is my first choice. If you're good, you can reach out to 275 yards with it. OK, it if had to be a pistol, I'll take the hand grenade in 10 mm. I want something that will give me a chance against wild game like the dreaded killer rabbit.

9mm = conventional warfare
10mm=unconventional warfare You can double them with a 9, but you don't have to with the 10. |

can we get coversion barrels? Yes, but you can only have ammo for the original caliber. |
Unlimited replacement pistols and ammo?
Why would anyone opt for less firepower if cost was no object? |
If I get to have unlimited ammo and unlimited spare parts, 10mm
then I'd try to unlearn that flinch
Easy.
You took all the disadvantages of the 10mm away. The 10mm is good for anything social, as well as in the woods. The 9mm is not. The 10mm is harder to find ammo for, parts for, and such. But since you are saying that isn't a valid problem.........10mm if you can only have 1 gun, simply because the cartridge is capable of more. |
If ammo is unlimited then a 10mm is the answer!
If the choice is between 9mm and 10mm the answer is always 10mm! Glock G20 is the weapon of choice. BigDozer66 |

10mm is so cool, it makes aliens blow apart into a spray of acid.
.45
10mm is too much for most people to be accurate. .40 is bad enough. I'll vote 9mm. |
Been packin' the 20 since the flashmob thing. It could happen even in AK, I'm supposin'
10mm loaded to the FBI training specs is easy to handle.
10mm loaded to buffalo bore specs will knock badguys, or large animals dicks in the dirt. I don't think there's any cartridge right now that's as flexible for semi-auto's. 135-220 grain, from 900-2300(wildcat round) FPS. |
Seriously, I'll take 9mm. Other than hunting, it's all I'll need in a handgun or subgun cartridge.
That's easy with those stipulations, 10mm. I have a Dan Wesson 10mm 1911, Glock 29, and Colt Delta Elite.
Although I do use 9mm for full auto, and for my girlfriend's gun |
If you are trying to kill something that will kill you with no weapon...10mm
If you are after capacity and 2 leg critters... 10mm Opps :) J/K.. 9mm is a good cartridge. Just don't expect a Grizzly not a laugh at ya |
Given the choice for a casual pistol encounter, I would go 10mm.
Unlimited ammo & parts?
I'll take the 1076 I stupidly let go long ago
