There are stories about what happened.
It's true... all of it... the dark side... the Jedi... they're real. That was awesome. Goosebumps, a little catch in my throat, maybe even a little mist at the corners of my eyes. I can't wait to take my dad to go see this, like he took me to the original 38 or so years ago. |

I've got tickets for a standard viewing but want to see it in iMax, but NOT 3D. I'm not seeing any offerings for 2D iMax. They all say 3D.

Part in red: It's neither new or edgy generally speaking as the Left has been doing this for 40 years now but it IS new to the Star Wars movies. The Star Wars movies are rooted in traditional storytelling that goes back thousands of years where the main protaganist is usually a young boy. Think of The Legend of Zelda series. Whether the boy is black, white, yellow, whatever doesn't really matter. Although in a country that is majority white you think they would want to have a white protagonist so that the majority of the audience could identify with the main character. But anyway, making the main protagonist a female in a traditional story structure breaks down the archetypes that we in the west are familiar and can identify with. It's a no win situation for everybody. Girls can't identify with the female "hero"(who is basically a boy) and boys can't identify with her either. You end up with a character who doesn't "ring true" and feels false and forced. The black stormtrooper guy is not an issue. It's the female lead that is. |

They wouldn't allow aliens to join, I'm sure they'd turn that into not being favorable to other races of humans too.
