Finished separating Mil-crimped from commercial nearly 4000 pieces of mixed 223/556.
I estimate that I have approximately 2300 pcs that now need to have the crimps removed. |

Decided that since I had a couple hours to spare for the first time in a while, I would do something reloading.
I brought down the 22 tcm rifle to test some 34 gr "dogtown" bullets from mid south shooters supply I bought a long time ago. I have never had good luck with this rifle with H110. In fact, I've never had good luck with this rifle at all. So, I decided to try unique this time. I started at 5gr and worked up to 7gr. Couldn't get velocities because the light was leaving me so I tested accuracy. 7gr got me a 1 hole group at 50 yards with a flyer that opened it up to .5". More testing is required. |

Next will be 50 using AA 9 and 50 with H-110. Using a Hornady 90 gr XTP. Wet tumbled 1500 380, dried, sorted and put away ready for next loading session. |

Back to square 1...
Did more testing with 22 tcm. Same bullet, a 34gr flat base hp. Same powder. The rounds were loaded on the same equipment. At 50 yards, I get .3" groups. At 100 yards, I get 4" groups. Diagnosing how I go from sub moa to horrible moa could only be chocked up to fading light or something went wrong with the rifle while it was sitting by itself in the leadsled. Fingers crossed it was the light. |

Yesterday took apart 200 .223 rounds (pulled the bullets and saved the powder) that I thought were loaded too hot. I resized the cases to reset the necks and then I reloaded all 200 cases to a more desirable load.
IN the last week I resized some previously sized cases (2000) in a different full length resizer. The full length resizer I used is a Lyman that I have had for several years. I was pressure denting the cases in the passed so I stopped using it. I have since figured out a way to use the resizer without pressure denting the cases. Basically, I'm using less lube than I have in the passed and only about 1 in 20 cases shows any signs of denting. Those that do dent are NATO brass. I believe that brass came out of a machine gun chamber and the brass is pretty stretched. kwg |

I got my long dead Frankford Arsenal vibratory tumbler working again.
One of the wires going to the motor had broken loose. New spade terminal and it's good as new. It was full of Lake City M-118lr brass that needs a bit more to finish it and it's running now. Guess I'll finish running these out and get them 'bang ready' again. |

(Yesterday)
Refined a load I had started working on about a month ago, specifically a 223 with a 55gr VMAX under some Varget, lit off with a WSR. I had identified three charge weights as being promising after my previous full range test, these were 25gr, 25.4gr, and 25.6gr. I loaded up 15 of each charge weight and exercised them at 100 yards. I also threw in an extra five at 25.6 for which I did not apply my the Lee Factory Crimp die. Of those three weights, 25gr and 25.6 (w/o crimp) produced two sub-MOA groups while 25.4 did not. Next, I'm going to try 25gr w/o crimp along with establishing a larger sample size of 25.6 w/o crimp. |

They had a ton of green sealant on them (seriously an insane amount), maybe that's why they were rejected. This is after a 12 or so hour wet tumble with a sprinkle of Lemi Shine and a drop of Dawn. I didn't use any pins as I didn't want to damage the bullets... Might try a very small batch with pins to see what happens. After cleaning I noticed some were struck with a "T" on the bottom (Trophy Bond) and some weren't. Took the tin snips to a non-marked one and they are indeed TBBC bullets. Apparently some of the presses weren't set up to strike the base. Can't wait to see what they do in the carbine. I may try to shoot a deer with one and see how it does. Photos show both a marked and unmarked bullet. Looks like about 90% of the bullets have no sealant left, most of the rest have just a tiny amount left in the cannelure, and one or two out of the batch still had sealant up and down half the bullet. There was hardly any copper in the water so the process was gentile enough to not cause any damage. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Day before yesterday I finished depriming the brass from my recent range trip. I had already taken care of the pickups, so on Thursday I took care of the brass I actually fired.
Since then I haven’t had a chance to do anything. Friday was a mess at work and today my wife marched in our local Veterans Day parade with her Women Veterans group. Since it as a straight route (not a loop), I was both the drop off and pick up driver, that kind of used up today. I have had a little time to research whether or not I should get an M-die for .45 Colt. No conclusion yet... |

Last two days: finished swaging three coffee cans of 223 only to find a half a creamer can left over. Then started trimming only to find some kind of blade shift or another malfunction on my triway causing wacky cuts on my brass.
I spent an hour trying to reset it but gave up as I got too cold. Tomorrow I'll finish the swaging part and work on the triway some more. |

Shot some of the 62 gr. TBBC bullets over some A2230 this morning out of a 20" accuracy AR.
They shot right at 2.5 MOA for 10 shots which seems to be about right according to everything I've read. Chose 2230 because it's on the fast side of powders for the grain weight and I intend to chase velocity out of 16" or less barrels. I used load data for the 62 gr. Barnes and it seems to be close enough for comfort. Medium book charge didn't show any pressure. May load some up with a stick powder to see if they shrink up a bit. Going to take the chrony out soon to see what they clock from a 11.5" barrel. |

Tore down the 650 and bullet feeder for a good cleaning after 3k of 45 and set them up for my 9mm run for next years USPSA (plan is 5 3600 bullet cases from blue bullets. so probably have to clean it at some point before I get that 18K loaded.) Im having a problem with the case slider pulling the case back about a 1/16" and cursing it with the die. Tried cleaning the face not luck so keep tweaking.

FINALLY got back to reloading today after buying a house and getting married over the past 6 months.
500 rounds of 147gr 9mm on the 650. Feels good to be back. Did some homework to start loading 450 Bushmaster. |

I haven't been reloading in quite a while. Finally decided to finish off the setup for 9mm for my 550. I had a spare powder bar but needed a new spacer and some other odds and ends. Also ordered 500 FMJ bullets from RMR. Gotta love free shipping! Looking forward to spending my Thanksgiving vacation reloading.
Anyone have a preferred powder? I've got Accurate #5, Unique, and HP38. |
