I've got it for 2-gun matches that we are starting to dabble in over here...

Neat! I almost bought one about a month ago so I could try it for 3-gun, but I ended up getting a Benelli at a good price instead. I'll probably still get the SX3 sometime in the future though. How does it shoot?

ETA: Benelli pics. It's my first Benelli, and it's quickly becoming my favorite shotgun ever. Since the pictures were taken, I've put the stock charging handle back on, added a foliage green VTAC sling, and I got new santoprene tubing from Mesa Tactical (for free!) so shotshells don't need to be in the side saddle up to the brass anymore.

Started as this for $300 at a pawn shop.

Cut barrel to 18.5", added competition shell lifter with extra large release button, Scattergun sights, Wilson +2, Choate bolt handle, Speedfeed stock, garage park job, with top coat of DuraCoat black. Just finished. Looking forward to running a few boxes of buckshot through it for reliability testing.

That looks great! I usually *hate* "tactical" 870's, but you have done yours right!

Fixed up the ol 870. Started as a 870 express magnum with wood stocks. 20" smooth bore slug barrel with rifle sights. + 2 extension and a tacstar side saddle. Just swapped to the talo edition synthetic stock recently and added the side saddle last night. I had a stock pad with ammo holders and think the side saddle will work better.  This is more comfortable and lighter than the wood stuff.

My old 870.  I just got the Mesa Tactical rail and side saddle, had a set of MBUS and an old Eotech laying around, so they now have a home.  Also had a LaRue RISR, that wasn't being used, and needed a riser for the stock, so it worked out perfect.

Thanks, its just an old 870 express that was pretty beat up.
I had the barrel /reciever/mag/extension parked in zink, then installed 870P walnut furniture on it.I shortend the stock to 13"LOP and reground the pad.The metal trigger plate was really beat so I detail stripped it then refinished it in matte gray GunKote.
I upgraded all the springs/follower/extractor,then finished it off by installing a Big Dot front bead.

We should have traded furniture.
Here is my $300 pawnshop special before and after.  I did the Cerakote myself, it was my second one.  Awesome stuff.

This is my newly acquired Remington 870 Wingmaster Police 20" Riot Shotgun from 1966.
The man who I bought it from inherited it from his father who was a police officer. When his dad's department ordered new shotguns, they let the officers tack one on for themselves and this was his. The guy said his dad got it and pretty much kept it stored and never remembered him firing it.
When I got it I saw that he was probably correct about it never being used. There was no wear on the carrier and the bolt looked brand new.
The only thing that was wrong with it was that his father had put on a sleeve type recoil pad and over the years it left a sun fade on it.
I stripped it down and stained it a darker red color and then applied 7 coats of Tru Oil.
Additional modifications:
Updated to police carrier dog spring.

Factory 3 round magazine extension.

Wolff extra power magazine spring.

S&J Hardware No Jam follower.

Scattergun Technologies Jumbo Head safety. (painted the "hot" side red)

L&M Flashlight Mount

Surefire 9P w/ shock isolated bezel.

GrovTec sling swivels.

British L1A1 sling.

Added a weapon light to my model 11, now I am tacticool. I made a copy of the streamlight 870 light mount that mounts under the mag cap or extension.
(Of course now the dang gun won't fit in its spot "muzzle up" like I had it so now its sitting muzzle down)

Guess ill throw my hat in the ring.
It ain't tactical, its rather fuddish, i cant extend the mag tube, and the safety is a tad awkward, but it shoots well and its mine.

My competition shotguns. My local club has a Tac Shotgun division for pump guns, and these now-discontinued Winchester 1300 Defenders are the best - and fastest - thing going.
