Nice, does that handguard mount up tight on the receiver end?

Damn that looks clean.

Just some updated images of my 590A1 I turned into a customized "retrograde", now with 100% more heat shield:

Happened to snag a collapsible stock and grip from a local store for $225. I much prefer the contour of the Benelli pistol grip vs the Mesa Tactical pistol grip I used to have. The Mesa grips are a bit more squared on the back, and aren't quite as comfortable.

870 20 Ga Express mixup, idk, just felt like futzing with it, wanting something different. Hogue short LOP overmold stock + forend. Drilled and tapped, choate extension + follower, wilson safety, volquartsen non-mim extractor + sear spring. contemplating rattle can just to say forget it and run the crap out of it. Have a barrel clamp on the way will add that in w it when done.

Nice shotgun.  Here is my late government contract MK-I.  At some point someone installed a recoil pad.

Any idea why they went with a modified choke and not I/C?  Beautiful weapon.

As far as I know, that is what the USMC contract stated, along with a 21 inch barrel.  I think other government organizations were allowed to be added to the contract near the end.  The last MK-I were as pictured because the USMC stopped the use of the rifled sights.  My Mk-I was probably a DOD shotgun or part of a foreign military aid package.

My current selections. I love shotguns but sadly don't have anywhere to shoot them anymore. I would still like to pick up a Tac 14 and a classic 870P though. Got a corn cob style fore end coming for the 870.

Left to Right:
My new 870
My 1187
My Uncles 20ga Pardner.
My Dad's 12ga Pardner
My Papa's 30/30/12ga Savage
My Mom's 22LR/410 Stevens
My Papa's old double barrel that is broken. Ithaca I believe.

Got my Police fore end in from ebay today. Perfect condition, doesn't match the stock 100% but it's a lot closer in person than the pic makes it out to be.
Wish I could find a stock that was closer to the color but haven't yet.

Picked up this pimp-tastic 1973-vintage 1100 off GB for $460.

It was Cerakoted in Bronze at some point...not really my thing, but the price was right and I miss my old 1100 and 1187. I swapped the Choate pistol-grip with a Remington stock I had and pulled the Wilson extension off my 870 as a fill-in until I can order another. I'll probably order an S&J extension as their specs show it to be 3/4" longer than the Wilson, which should put it flush with the muzzle (the barrel was cut at 18.75" to coincide with the vent rib).

When I picked it up, I mentioned to the consigner that I had seen it when it was listed previously a few weeks ago and bid on it, but didn't win it then. She said, "Oh, no...that was a different one. This guy had two just alike."

I mean...who builds two of these things?!

It looked more "goldish" in the GB pics and the description stated it was gold. I was expecting the worst...the plan before I saw it was to have it parkerized, but was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up. I was expecting something that looked like it was captured from Saddam Hussein's palace.
