I hope this is true — I have been delaying buying an RC2 for far too long but if these will be available “relatively soon” I don’t have a problem waiting much longer!

I bought an RC2 2 days ago.

Considering asking SS to switch it.

Let the speculation begin.  Sounds like they are going the 3D route as well.

I think I remember seeing a patent drawing and it looking like a high flow design.

For something that is most likely bomb proof I’d expect 17 ounces. The new Daniel defense offering is 22 for Pete sake.

LOL bought a 7.62 RC2 Mini this morning a couple hours before I read about RC3 on reddit...

Guess I'll wait to revamp my suppressor lineup.  Work is also looking for new cans, so maybe these will be considered

An effective ( both flash/sound signature and back pressure reduction wise ) flow through suppressor does not need to be very complicated to do both.

The RC2 I tried was heavy, gassy and loud as fuck.

Looks like the RC3 is still heavy, will be less gassy and probably even louder.

Meh…

I'll stick to huxwrx FLOW suppressors...

coming from someone who owns a RC2.

It seems to me like huxwrx has the best flow-through design and everyone else is trying to get around the patent with inferior designs.

“60% lower back pressure”
Yes!

“Unmatched flash reduction”
YES!

“Extreme durability”
YESSSS!!!!!!!!

“SOCOM muzzle device compatible”

What’s wrong with the socom mount? I see lots of complaints about it. Is it because it’s proprietary?
Link Posted: 9/24/2023 3:57:31 PM EDT

Expensive, mounts are out of stock frequently and for long periods, carbon fouling can make it really stuck to the point where a strap wrench or rubber mallet won't work and it has to be shot off.

Routine cleaning and application of a little anti seize paste would prevent most peoples' issues with it.

I picked up my RC2 from jail a few days ago. This looks interesting but probably won't go crazy until it is accepted by a mil contract and then the cloning will commence.

I see. Thank you.

I had seen the carbon lock issues. I wonder how the Mil handles That?

Yes
And heavy
and not cheap
And they won’t update the SF3P so it doesnt ping
And is prone to getting stuck and SF’s advice is to “shoot it off”

Surefire probably has the shittiest mount available of any major suppressor manufacturer. At least I can’t think of anything worse off the top of my head.

The Surefire is the way it is because it was designed for military contracts. They are more worried about the fan staying in than coming off. I was told once that one battalion once lost more than a dozen cans (KAC) in one deployment.

It lacks a full gas seal. I wish they’d stuck with the 212 design.

I was specifically told that most incidents involved helicopters, and those guys were doing six rides many nights, 90 days straight. They use SF now. They also lost some M203s. Kids these days.

The RC3 is what I was waiting for. I love my Surefire cans. I don’t have issues with the muzzle devices as long as I clean then before I shoot and apply Geissele Go Juice (yes it works, it never locks up on me. I no longer use anti-seize).

Looks like Surefire did what KAC did with their QDC cans. They added ports. I’m sure the geometry is more complicated than what the patent drawings tell. Will be interesting to see how it performs.

I’m interested to learn how they 3D printed Inconel. That alone is a huge achievement and should give better durability than any 3D printed titanium or stainless steel cans. I’m glad they kept the weight the same. Surefire’s RC2 cans are just the right weight and length IMHO. They are not stupid heavy like the new B&T cans. More important, they will not spark like the titanium cans do (why OSS didn’t weld a 17-4 baffle or end cap up front I will never know on the Flow 762K Ti).

Sweet. Now I know what I want for Christmas. Hopefully they have a 762 can soon as well.

Only the Warcomps lack the Labyrinth Seals, and have holes instead.
