Yeah, the MRO definitely has a periscope looking profile, however I don't think it looks too goofy on a low mount. The low mount works on the SCAR but might be an issue with an ATPIAL. Cheers |

The Gen I and II Spectres are "boxy" like mine while the Gen III, which is current production, was slimmed down a bit, however it has distinct bulges on the sides to accomadate the internal adjustment. I procured mine new as a MEUSOC overrun and I got a great deal on it but sold it to fund other things. You know how it goes. Cheers |

I was up between doing a setup like this, or going with the KDG rail. It's actually 14.1in with the pinned SilencerCo Trifecta break that Jarrod did for me about a year ago. I currently have a form 1 pending and it will go to 13in and get a rugged suppressors flash hider for my my Razor that is pending. Jarrod definitely does great work though. By switching over to his rails I shaved a few oz off of the rifle and the profile of the rifle feels better in my hand. It doesn't help that the Burris 1-8 weighs in at 24oz without a mount. I would recommend Jarrod to anyone. |

How was the KDG HG install? |

I recently installed a PWS SRX on my 13" CQC barrel, which requires removal of the bottom rail. Since I don't have a heat gun, I just wrapped my barrel assembly in aluminum foil (maybe not necessary) and put it in a 250-degree oven for about 15 minutes. I was able to remove the bottom screws using just a screwdriver with Torx bit. |

View Quote Yea I know FN says to use a heat gun but all long as the thread locker is gone it's all good, but that seemed like the only hard part. The rest was pretty easy. |

I just installed an MREX a couple of days ago. I used a soldering iron on the barrel screw for 5 minutes which loosened the thread locker with no issues. The only thing that did cause a bit of consternation was aligning the bracket in which the 14 mm screws screw into. The bracket would move around every time I installed the barrel assembly into the receiver. Finally got it adjusted and set in place to complete the install.

Once you've initially removed the bolts for the first time, it becomes a lot easier to remove them in the future. I have used a heat gun for the removal of mine on all of the Scars I have owned. They are pretty cheap at Harbor Freight, less than $20 if I recall correctly. If you don't have a heat gun you can raid your woman's drawers in the bathroom and use her hair dryer on the HI setting as well. Take your time and use firm, consistent pressure when breaking the screws free so that you don't strip the heads or slip off and scratch the receiver.
