WOW, some nice looking stuff.

stang1 and ARPredatorHUnter:  do either of you have a "photobucket" page or something else with all your stuff in one area?  Hard going through all 52 pages of this post to find all the good ones.  I'd like to see some of them against a plain background also so I can see more of the paint detail.  Trying to get some ideas to start spraying one of mine.....

Edit:  Ok, figured out the photobucket names from the links, but need a password to see the albums.  Any way to make them public?

OK,  Where do you guys get the material that stretches over the items and leaves the pattern?.......

Thanks,

Bulldog Arms Templates and I use a heat gun to get it to lay flat across unusual shapes.

Bulldog Arms

Edit:

Or are you asking about the hydrographic printing stuff like the factory camo guns use?

Are you speaking of the fishnet stockings?  I'd go to Victoria's Secret and look around a little or I guess you could just go to Wal-Mart.

I'd like my own plotter, but I just can't justify the cost for a recreational project tool.

Here is mine mocked-up but not completed

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j293/sid_418/DSCF5264.jpg

Its a bushmaster, 16in fluted barrel, midwest industried new t series hanguard in FDE, magpul ASAP, MIAD and CTR in FDE.

Coated in KG gunkote FDE, the difference in the colors really shows up under flash, to the naked eye its hard to tell a difference.

CZ52 done in Norrell's Flat Black.  Wasn't cooked at a high enough temp so it came out a bit glossy, initially.  Redid the slide and it came out flatter than expected.  I love it!  As a side effect, the gun shoots and functions so much smoother than before!

Also refinished two mags to go with it.

I got tired of my Wilson mags being shiny so I hit them with Norrell's Flat Black.

A rough HK P7 PSP import that turned out incredibly with Norrell's Flat Black.  Shoots so smooth and the initial squeeze of the safety is lighter than before I refinished it.

Sig P6 West German import before::

After:

And yes, I LOVE Flat Black!!

Finally, two AR mags in Norrell's OD:

WAY too cheap! I'd never do a complete AR for $70, even a single color.

Looks good. Any chance for an outdoor picture in natural light?

I'll take a picture of it and my Benelli Supernova done by him in some natural light tonight. I agree it's way too cheap, I actually only paid 63$ for a single color rifle and optic b/c he has a 10% mil discount.

moosemcnally's woodland AR on page one came out very nice.
eastky454 rifle on page 52 is also very well done.
ocmike's  Remington 597 on page 3 is the winner in my book.  EXCELLENT!

I'd like to do that on my next AR build with a little more green in it.

I'd love to refinish my Wilson mags like that.  What kind of prep did you do beforehand?  Also, did you do anything to keep it out of the inside of the mags?  If not, have you had any problems with the spring of rounds dragging on any overspray?  Thanks!

Yall can kiss my ass!

What pisses me off is that yall can do shit that I can't. You guys take great pics and make some kick ass shit!

Most of these guns are amazing.

Bastards!    :)

Now that I've been rude, here's a question. If I wanted something done, would people here do it if I paid them or would I have to send my gun/s to professional finishers? Quite frankly though, the shit I've seen on websites is not even close to some of the work here and not, that's not part of the ass kissing, it's true.

I've seen some finished stuff but was not impressed at all till I saw this thread.

Damn that's some nice shit! Keep up the good work guys.

Oh and the reason I posted was not to suck up, I really am that envious and you guys really do make some very nice stuff. Hell, I may never spend the money on having my guns done but when I did look online, the places I found that finish stuff didn't do anything nearly as nice as what I've seen here. Yep, yall truly suck!  :)

I tore the mags down, taped off the inside and hit them VERY lightly with 120 grit Aluminum Oxide.  Did some in 70 grit and they were too rough and wear was faster.  Blasting was slow going but worth it.  Just need to finish all my other mags.

Every morning, I do an "administrative check" before holstering up and have yet to see any real wear.  I'm quite happy with the flatness of the mags and have not had any issues with over spray or the followers hanging.

99% is prep and cleaning.  The other part is getting the temp and distance of the spray device correct.  That, my friend, is fun, especially when my shop is 25* inside!!

Gotcha!  Thanks for the reply!  If you don't mind me asking, how'd you go about masking the insides off?

Very nice!!  Are those the standard Duracoat ACU colors?  Yours looks far better than the one on their site.

Judochop-  That FS2000 looks great!!  What did you use and approximately how long did it take you?

I only masked then with heavy duty painters tape during blasting.  Pulled the tape, cleaned and sprayed.  The over spray didn't stick to the insides on mine since they I used a very thin coating of oil applied with a q tip before spraying.

Here are a couple of knives I did last week.  The Kershaw scales were HIDEOUS so I did them in flat black
Before(same scales, two different blade colors):

After a couple coats of Norrell's Flat Black Moly Resin:

I had a friend ask me to do his Spyderco Endura in OD as he was tiring of the shiny factory appearance.  All the metal parts on the Endura were coated, including the fasteners.  It came out looking and feeling like parkerizing.  I'm very happy with the outcome of both!

Nothing fancy here, this time.  My recent build sprayed in DuraCoat's Coyote.  The Ergo is in their FDE, as well as the Troy sling plate in their's (close enough for me...).

Looks pretty good...if you don't mind a small suggestion:  it looks a tad shinny...you may want to give it a coat of matte clear.  Or just tell me to F' off...either way.

I don't mind constructive criticism.  It's not as shiny in person as the pix would lead one to believe.  Afterall, I did just wipe it down with TruLube prior to taking the pix.  Besides, it's not gonna be a show piece by any means (it's gonna git dirrrty and scuffed...which I'm looking forward to doing through use).
