I wonder how fast they will get thru the Post41F filings? Seams like the huge influx of forms did not slow them down too bad.

Texas Form 4 Gemtech GM-9
Purchased - 05/01/2016 Pending - 06/18/2106 Approved - 04/19/2017 Received - 04/29/2017 From womb to tomb in just under a year. I'm all finished with anything NFA "for now". I honestly don't know if it's even worth it to me, anymore. |

I know this is for updates on approvals so go ahead and delete if need be.... But why such a huge range of time from purchased to pending on these? Some guys have like a couple day split and some have over a month.
I'm still pending 7/12 fwiw |
My 7/18 pending date is still pending as of yet, as well. I'm confused by the spread in the approval times. Seems there's recent approvals coming in for mailing dates between early June and mid July. With the volume of forms submitted during these times, this seems like a wide spread.

Two cans, Checkmate QD and 7.62 SD purchased from SS on 6/14/2016.
Form 3 Status: Disposed 9/14/2016 on both. Form 4 Status: Submitted 7/7/2016 on both. Not a friggin' thing yet on Form 4's. I'm going to attempt to contact the ATF speed demons today and try to get some kind of time frame. This eternal wait crap sucks donkey balls. |

Just got off the phone with the ATF. They said my form 4's would be approved by the end of the month.
The robo-chick that answers the phone said that current form 4 wait times are 8 months. |

I think its time to tell those in in the NFA industry that if they want any more of our money, its time to lobby for 30 day processing of NFA paperwork.
Today marks 11 months from the date SS charged me for my cans and tax stamps, and there is still no sign of my form 4s being approved. Attached File |

Cuz this personal wait time of 11 months makes this investment retarded. It's not even an investment really. When it comes to cans the wait time and tax stamps if you wanted to resell is too much. Other than a mg that's the only investment that works. Btw I'm a 7/6 submittal too. And I think I've seen a few after mine that's been approved. |

I agree that SS's truckload of forms made for a cool picture, but it seems they had forms in there from back to the middle of June and right up to the limit. My July 5 order among them. Not a good service to those who bought earlier because it brought them all "down" to the same level.

My SS 6 June purchase went pending 22 July along with my 7 July purchase. IMO, not the best strategy to grow the company.

We were all guessing back then how bad it would be. |

Well, around the June 2016 time frame, the ATF concentrated on form 3s. Faster than form 4s. SS knew this and said this in an old post on the forum and knew that approaching the cutoff, both forms would be sent around the same time and not half. Altered their policy, yes, bet they really didn't put their buts on the line if the ATF alluded form 3 would take precedence over 4s Nor would they have a choice in order to postmark form 4s in time.
At any rate, its done and over with. Im sure it was a stressful time for them to make deadlines with last minute orders |

Wait, you're all upset with SS because they "held" your form 4 so late? I thought legally the form 4 shouldn't be submitted until the form 3 was disposed? SS, trying to cut time, was willing to submit the 4 PRIOR to most people's form 3 approval. Sounds like you should be thanking them and not bitching about them.
Correct. To a point. But SS was advertising that they would guarantee submission before the cutoff and they have long had a practice of sending Form 4s before completion of Form 3s. I didn't get in until almost the end (1 week before the cutoff), so I am NOT complaining about that. What I was saying is that those who did get in earlier, like early to mid June, could have (should have?) had their forms sent in earlier to get in process before the final last minute guys (like myself). Would have been more of a steady flow rather than an overturned bucket. And hopefully ensure that those buying June 15 would be in line ahead of July 5 (like me), rather than all of us in line at the same point where mine might get done a month or more ahead of a June purchase just because mine happened to be grabbed from the pile first.
I do not think that ATF is looking at a "form completed" date (say June 15) to put it in place ahead of "form completed July 5". To ATF, it is almost certainly "all pending 7/22" so that there will be no first in-first out based on actual purchase ("form completed") date. Rob |
I'm not sure how the intake of all the forms went, I know I had purchased a griffin alpha late June and a rugged Obsidian right at cutoff from SS. My alpha has a pending of July 15, where my Obsidian is july 21. These were both mailed same day. I'd love to be a fly on the wall and hear the "well shit where do we start."
Seaking with a ATF rep today and the outlook is about 2 months to get through July forms. So I figure my July 21st pending should clear sometime after July 4th.
