I like the kydex since I planned on mounting it to my gear and it retains the blade nicely...the blade "clicks" into the kydex and there is also a snap closure.  I used paracord to rig it to the molle on the pack.  I dont see a stable way of mounting the kydex to a belt with the loop on the sheath though.  It kind of flops around and rides up when you try to draw the blade.

The pack is an LA Police gear 3 day pack.  For only $29 I figured I would give it a try.  Its a nice roomy pack with two permanently mounted outside pouches and a nice inside compartment.

(My previous pack was a Lowepro Photography bag...it was about the same size, but padded everywhere and had velcro separators that you could arrange any way you wanted....even had a built-in rain hood.  Due to all the padding though it was larger on the outside, but had less room on the inside.)

Does it have a spot for a bladder?

As a matter of fact it does.  I never used a bladder before so I am not sure how to set one up.  The inside back panel of the pack has a split opening with a foam backing.  On either side of the top carry handle there are velcro openings for the drinking tube.  Im not sure if it is needed, but there are no straps or anything else to hold the bladder or tube.

You're going to run out of room.

And do you really need v lites when you have both a manta and a surefire light?

Depending on what I am doing, ill mix and match. Its not all going to be on there at once. The Contour GPS has some settings for low light, and the surefire light gives enough to actually work for some good footage at night. It also doubles up as my IR strobe since my MS2000 smashed. When the manta comes, that will be the strobe that stays on there constantly, and the surefire will hardly be used, only when I am making video. Also, if I need to read maps at night etc, I have a red princeton light which goes on that tan light. I just keep it in my pocket until I need it usually, so it doesn't get caught. The v lites will just be for the night shoots where I really need people to know I am there. All my gear has a thought out use though.

Oh, and I got it for $109 because it was an REI sale, they only had one out the box.

Yes, yes I know. I've bought Condor before and have tossed out alot of money in the garbage, but this plate carrier and pouch is as if made from another company. 100% recommend; it is put together very well.

SKD finally had some Esstac Shotgun Cards in stock so I picked a few up. The fit really well and draw easily from the Emdom Immediate Access pouches on my chest rig.  Now SKD needs to get some more Emdom IAPs in stock.

If it's part of a personal collection, then I'm moving my butt up to NC and making friends with all the instructors!

ETA: since i took over a page i'll snap some gear pics momentarily.

oh ya, PIC THREAD!!

and in the blow out kit, i currently have it a little overstuffed as it is filling multiple roles, i'll probably eliminated the extra two compression bandages, tweezers, and probably slim it down to a smaller pouch so it isn't so bulky

SCAR my two big Gripes with it: First the weak buttstock latch that allows the stock to fold under pressure without pressing the button. FN knows its issue but refuses to fix it (yes you can now buy aftermarket latches but for a rifle that cost $2,000.00 you think you would not have to deal with that). Second the charging handle ,throw certain optics on your gun you will bust your knuckles everytime you charge it, bump the handle slighty (say it hits your forward hand) while firiing and you just gave yourself a stoppage.

It's getting there. I still have yet to change out the ACH cover for my RFI'ed multicam one but you get the picture.

Chest rig is an HSGI warlord. I like it because it puts the magazines up high on my chest as opposed to on my gut like the FLC, so I can get nice and low - plus it's got a fun little admin pouch built in for fun things like IR chem lights, rosters, etc.
Comms on left side, the war belt isn't pictured but the IFAK is also mandated on the left side (SOP) so that's where it lives.
Oh, also required by SOP are goggles on the ACH, a leftover from the unit's 09 deployment to Iraq and the convoys there. Probably unneeded for dismounted patrols in AFG because of standard eye pro but whatever.
