I can't ever see myself needing 10 or more mags, at least i would hope i wouldn't. The only time i've heard of anyone needed that many mags without a resupply was Marcus Luttrell. He spoke about having 13 magazines on him that day. I can't remember if he said if he used them all or not though.

Most of them probably fell out during his tactical roll.

I was bored at work and made myself a little modular bandoleer thing
with some scrap pieces that we had laying around.  I've been wanting to
do this for a while.  It's going to be my bump in the night/waking the
dogs gun purse.  We have a bad coyote problem and I find myself going
out with my FLIR PS32 and hand carrying that Glock 32. Even worse, peeing in the yard required waaaaay too much effort. Not anymore!  I
just have to throw this rig over my shoulder and grab the FLIR. Ready for a potty walk!
Contents
are a Glock 32 w/Surefire X300 in a thumb break Safariland off
of a 6004 thigh rig.  Triple mag pouch has a spare mag for the Glock, a
Kershaw folder, and a 3-cell LED Surefire.  The small GP pouch has
gloves, ear plugs, and shooting glasses.  I made the bandoleer out of an
old cummerbund set and some hardware.  Pouches were pulled from
returned salesman samples. I left a pocket in the bandoleer with sew on
loop on both sides.  The holster is held in with self-adhesive hook. I just cut it and wrapped the holster with it.  I made some two sided hook pieces to hold the pocket closed in the voids.
Overall view.

The front with pouches.

The back.

Looking down from the top.

Kind of how it rides.  I wear it with the strap over my right shoulder and it lays on my left hip. Use my left hand to move it toward the front then draw with the right.

Looks nice.

Do you all make the gear?

If so, I'd guess at least 3 different machines did that job.

A double needle binder, zigzag , and a single needle walking foot.

Pouches were already made.  If you call a bartacker a zigzag then you are correct!

Im digging this a lot too Chris. That would be my perfect idea for a bag, if it only had a flap that hung over the top similar to a messenger bag. That way I could carry it more places and not worry about people seeing the grip of the gun. Great work man.

Just a friendly tip; you want to be running your NVGs all the way to the front of the rhino. Otherwise when you run into something they'll smash your face or when you're running around they'll fog up.

My latest sling creation and currently my favorite.

So comfortable with the 2" solution dyed material. It's actually quick adjust just by grabbing the 2" tri-glide sliding back and forth.

It can even be used as a single point sling.

If you CAN have access to a suppressor... any time.

Me = California. Suppressors = NEIN.

Not really any pics of the jacket that I know of, it hasn't been cool enough round these parts in quite some time to wear it.  And Otte gear is likely the most underrated gear company out there.  You won't be disappointed.

[Last Edit: JSteensen] [#26]

So, my old gear served me well for the past 10 years overseas and in training, and it was time to update. Not quite done yet, still need a few more items, but close enough.

Crye JPC v1

  • ESAPI Plates

  • Crye MBITR Pouches (w/ HT1550, but have my dual PTTs for MBITRs, two mags on opposite side.)

  • TT Accessory Pouch 1V, (w/ Blackhawk Gladius flashlight, GPS, Little bottle of lube, Notepad, Pens.)

  • TT Smoke pouch

  • Custom Horizontal TQ Pouch, Jason Crosby Special - Low profile, very slightly impedes mag changes. Figure it will take a couple range trips to tweak.

Velocity Operator Utility Belt

  • ATS War Belt Insert Belt (Inner belt)

  • Old, unknown double pistol pouch

  • HSGI Taco

  • Velocity Micro Diddie Pouch (I LOVE this thing. Just wish it were a little easier to roll back up wearing all my shit.)

  • HSGI Bleeder Pouch (Actually won that during a HSGI giveaway when the pouch first came out.)

  • HSGI Drop Leg (That's my 10 year old one thats been overseas a few times. Had the snot beat out of it and really no worse for the wear.)

Didn't grab my lid, as I didn't feel like going out to the garage.
Still need to acquire: (Need to finish selling my old gear on the EE first, but nobody buys UCP gear anymore...)

  • AWS Assault Pack or SORD Hydration Helmet Carrier.

  • MR SATL

  • Safariland 3280 Military Mid-Ride Holster

  • Maybe some shoulder pads for the JPC.

Funny story about the IR flag on the accessory pouch...Was on Camp Rustamiyah in Baghdad in 2006. (Got to live there for a few months before we moved out to FOB Shield, then an Iraqi Police Station for the last 9 months of the deployment.) Had rolled in from mission, laid down in our hootch, and drifted off (in a span of like 10 minutes.) Heard a mortar come in, but it was a few hundred yards off, so fuckit....roll over, pull armor up over me, go back to sleep....next one hit the top edge of the T-wall outside my hootch. Thumb size piece of shrapnel centerpunched the flag on my DAPS (which was connected to the armor laying on me), but didn't penetrate the soft armor of the DAPS. Gave me the slightest bruise. My roommate caught a hunk over his kidney but was fine after a couple week heal.
Worst part was another piece of shrapnel centerpunched my goddamn brand fucking new XBox 360. I called Microsoft, wondering about warranty. The lady went and talked to her supervisor, somewhat aghast once I explained the story of how hadji had blown up my two day old goddamn brand fucking new Xbox. (The old one had injested too much moon dust and died a horrible death of the magic smoke escaping.) She came back 10 minutes later, and (extremely regretfully, poor lady sounded on the verge of tears) informed me that war damage was not covered by the warranty, and there was nothing she could do. Oh well.

Hilariously enough, Sony fixed my old PS3 after the desert (in Kuwait, anyway) killed it.  I had to pay for shipping and they couldn't save any of my data, though, but they got the thing back up and running.  I'm surprised that Microsoft wasn't willing to help out an injured combat vet of a console.

Apple not only replaced my MacBook Pro that was in my rucksack that ate an 82mm on the side of a Stryker, but they sent me an upgraded new model even though mine was pushing five years old.

He's running a SIRT Laser Training Bolt in that top rifle; it isn't compatible with a charging handle.  I have one that I use to clear the house of invisible terrorists while my family sleeps... also, I have a laser target gallery
