Looks very similar to the D3 Chest rig from Haley Strategic. I've been resisitng the urge to buy one for a while. Can you post some better pics? Maybe what you have in the pouches. If it's priced right i would pick one up.

I'll try to snap some pictures later today. From left to right, the pouches hold a TQ, Multitasker Series 3 multitool, Glock 17 magazines, and lastly an small izzy. There's also a large admin pouch in the rear.

Steve can pretty much make anything you want and arrange it how you like.

ETA: as of right now it functions as a nice truck rig to accompany my SBR (I tuck a 17 in the farthest left AR pouch). For me it works really well. Kind of everything I need if things got interesting.

Pretty much just what i need. I carry 3 pistol mags on my duty belt so i don't even have them on my PC but everything else looks good. I'm looking for the ability to run my PC slick and throw a chest rig on it while still being pretty minimal. I have 3 rifle mags and a HSGI blowout pouch mounted on my cummerbund, it's a little tough to pull my IFAK contents out.

Care to post how much you paid? If not could you PM me?

I'm assuming you're talking about a spot out in Utah. I'm actually not from Utah; my username is in reference to my novel I published last April (check my signature).

This range is where Haley and Costa filmed the first Magpul Dynamics video way-back-when. It's called Ant Hill and it's in Southport, NC.

Mystery ranch 7500 bvs IIRC..

PT belt collection as follows.

Blue was taken from an MI LT I bagged after she failed out of Sapper school.
Red was from a smokin hot SSG lady medic in an FA unit I was attached to.
White was from an AF SF girl who searched my car in Tucson.

My red white and blue safety booty tally.

Komodo Dragon w/ Live Wing, NICE Daypack Lid, and two Autolock straps. All in coyote.

I had Armed Ferret mock this up and send me some pics so I'd know how it might go. From the looks of it, I'll be able to secure the top of the NICE Lid behind the shoulder straps and let it ride down on the front of the pack, and I'll use the two Autolock straps to secure the corners to the Live Wing waist belt with buckles attached to the PALS webbing. That'll give me an extra 900ci of capacity to a 2300ci the Komodo offers, and I think I may add two vertical ATS GP pouches on the face of the pack where the vertical zipper splits it down the middle. It'll basically be a slightly smaller version of the SATL with a Y-Zip, but more adaptable. I had a SATL and you can't really use it without the lid. The Komodo isn't designed to use the NICE Lid but from how I've got it figured, I think it'll work pretty good, and I can still use this pack as a daypack or expand it for use up to five days, depending on what my AO is.

That seems like a pretty good idea, well thought out. I like the idea of the pockets on the front like the SATL. I have a 3DAP and have tried adding some pouches to the sides but it makes it too wide for my taste. If you haven't tried it before, the 3 zip is awesome compared to a toploader.

I just picked up a NICE STRLLS frame and am looking into a bag for it. I want to do something similar to you with the Crew Cab and the Daypack lid so I can have it be versatile and expand or compress down if needed.

Yeah I had the SATL and didn't like the top-load design so I bought the civilian version of the Komodo called the Snap Dragon. It was a little too small for my liking, and honestly, the Big Sky would've been perfect but they don't take custom orders anymore. I asked if I could get it with water bottle and pass-through side pockets but they shot me down. I kinda hate the tacticool look of all the PALS, but the options are simply endless. And I'm not planning to carry this thing around on a school campus so it'll be fine in an outdoor environment.

I originally wanted the Crew Cab, way back when I first discovered MR. I really like the load-cell design but I don't think it fits my needs quite like this setup will. And you're 110% correct - the Y-Zip is superior to anything I've ever used. It's just perfect.

I need to do some more thinking about the CC. I'd really like the Overload 3-Zip but I hardly see them for sale used. I'm looking for something that can carry awkward loads comfortably (using the load sling) but also function as a hunting pack so I can take my Mk12 out coyote hunting sometime.

I've never used a Crew Cab, but I believe that's exactly what it was designed for: carrying awkward loads comfortably.

My plate carrier and war belt, still working on it. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them. I plan on painting the holster a FDE color.

Had a long day and equally late night a couple weeks ago and the next day I pulled my crap out for remob.  Except for brief deployments and training it usually lives in the back seat of my car.  After years of researching, learning and gawking  on this forum, here's my humble contribution.  Pick it to pieces gents.

Mostly personally purchased gear with a couple of issued parts and pieces.  This is my scalable active shooter/backcountry patrol/SAR/tactical tracking gear.

For extra long movements or SAR work I'll go w only my .5 line, chest rig and Mystery Ranch SATL pack.  Also, the position of the belt worn stuff closely mimics that of my frontcountry leather duty gear.

1st line gear (I've been trying to track down the DBT belt mount collection now for years, now HSGI is doing them )

DBT 2" duty belt (mates w ares belt)
DBT belt mount pistol pouch x2
DBT belt mount ASP pouch (req. by policy)
safariland M-4 pouch
cant remember who makes this single MOLLE folding dump pouch
4x velcro one wrap keepers
5.11 motorola pouch
DBT light pouch
TT small GP for handcuffs

.5 line gear (worn on an ares cobra liner belt)

endom short admin pouch holds a mag, cuffs and ID (not worn with above 1st line belt)
safariland 6004 for SIG P228 w SF X300, one strap and low pro D ring belt attachment.
DBT pistol mag pouch bolted to shroud

issued united shield IIIa sprint high cut helmet w rhino and SF IR light

2nd line gear

mayflower ACP with issued ICW AMI SAPI3 plates (tough call on these due to M855, but at 3 lbs each, working in a temperate rainforest, they edged out my SAPI's)
ares plate silencers on right side
PIG mag inserts in cummerbund
11-ten kangaroo insert
DBT pistol mag pouch
HSGI BOK w QR molly stix and BFG TQ now, CAT is just wrapped in fabric
DBT roll up dump pouch
TYR 1.5 liter hydro on back

PIG 3 cell chest rig w KIWIs
random pistol mag pouch
HSGI BOK w QR molly stix and shock corded CAT wrapped in fabric

Thanks much guys,

"I slid my arms through the firm straps of my Mystery Ranch Komodo Dragon, the contents of which budged against the tough fabric. Reaching backwards, I grabbed the waist belt and buckled it, cinching it down nice and firm. That done, I snapped the sternum strap and readjusted the shoulder straps until the weight felt square and comfortable against my lumbar.

Beneath that was my Velocity Systems Lightweight Plate Carrier stuffed with soft-armor inserts, and I was wearing it completely slick. This allowed my pack to fit over everything in a most low-profile fashion.

What's more was that it was all MultiCam, and as a civilian operator, I gave zero fucks about looking airsofty..."
