I've got one that does it w/ LC .308 & Chilean 7.62x51. It's aggravating the hell out of me. I have thoroughly cleaned it and every 4th shot or so, I get a stovepipe. I've checked the extractor and it seems okay to me.
Thoughts? Extractor spring Buffer spring This gun has one battle pack run thru it. This problem started at approximately 150 rounds. I have scrubbed the chamber and am wits end. |

Send it back and let PTR troubleshoot and fix it.

Mine started doing that on the last round in a mag. Any mag any ammo. I checked the bolt gap and it was good. I emailed them and then talked on the phone. They sent me a label and I had it back pretty quick. Replaced the bolt and sighted it in. Has been good for 1000s of round since. They were on it and took care of me fast.

For <$20 plus shipping you can replace both the extractor and spring with genuine HK parts and remove all doubt.

Problem solved. A new extractor spring was the cure. Thanks all for your input !
No stoppages today and back to flinging brass 20 ft at 2 o'clock. |

Now install a 36 or even a 40 degree LP and the brass will stay within 5 feet or so.

It has nothing to do with reloading. It has to do with controlling gas flow.
