I've seen those but don't think they fit the Scout head. Was looking for a bulb to put in a Malkoff head. Really wish they made an IR one.

Does anyone know if Surefire makes an only IR head for the Scout? I'd like to pick up one to put on an Arisaka body.

Very, very cool. Its great to see M Tek helmets out there, have you tried wearing it with any ear pro? I've always wondered if they suffer from the same fit issues with peltors that every other helmet seems to have besides the maritime Ops Core. In any event, I am very interested in the upcoming ballistic version.

I thought a maritime ops Core was just half way between SF cut and standard? I run Comtac 3's with Ops core SF cut with zero issues (well except they should put the mic boom out from the top of the ear muff, to not interfere with cheek weld).

I've only worn the Flux over my set of work TCI Liberator II's around the back yard with the chin strap unclipped. Everything was very comfortable but because I haven't modified the headset with the MLok/ARC adapters, I was limited. For the time being I mainly just wear Surefire ear plugs. I have the Liberators pictured below with the cables routed at the back of the neck but this did nothing to impede their use. All in all a very comfortable set up, but I'll probably get a set of Peltors to mod instead of my work Liberators.

On a different note, I received an email from Gene at Malkoff last night and he stated that he's been experimenting with an IR head but hasn't found anything he likes. Guess I'll keep looking and checking their website.

Thanks man.  I wasn't sure if they were made by night combat solutions.  I have seen their battery holders used by ECPrevatte on instagram but haven't been able to find them on their website.  Shotgun shell scabbard is a good solution.

They are more active on Facebook and Facebook NV groups. I chatted with them about their counterweights, but it didn't go anywhere and I bought elsewhere.

Only now realized these A versions have a different J-arm than the regular MUM. That's really minimalistic and should weigh nothing. Have you liked the A model? Does Nivisys actually make them anymore?

Curious to know more about the counterweight setups on these helmets. They appear to be Team Wendy helmets with a counterweight and strap that integrates into the existing allen head screws. MrPlayer can you say more about this?

I have an OC counterweight on my OC Base. I love it because I don't fully trust only having velcro as the only attachment for a counterweight like the EOG.

Yes mounting is a little different but is relatively the same. The overall setup is very light weight, I have worn it for extended periods of time without discomfort. I know you can buy the 14 A from optics planet still... I will be calling nivisys today to see if they are still manufacturing, I have a bridge mount to make a Bino setup... I figure that may be my cheepest option at the moment

EC I saw a few of your pics on Instagram of their battery holder and it looked like a good product.  It makes no sense why they don't want to make money.  If I had any skill with a sewing machine, I would make some for you guys.  The response to me mentioning Night Combat Solutions makes it seem as though they would make a good bit of money.  Especially after positive exposure on this thread.

Mrplayer, look what I did to your tube :( got left on somehow in my bedroom during the day for about 5 hours. What's would be the value of this gen 3 pvs14 at this point? It's still usable, but as you can see, far from perfect now.

Oh no!!!!!
That doesn't look good. But first thing I would do is the "sock drawer fix"
Put foil on the objective, put the daylight cover on and then leave it on with fresh batteries for at least 24 hours. IN A COMPLETLY DARK AREA, like a sock drawer. It's fixed a lot of these issues.
If you still have my info feel free to call.

You can add them to a homeowners or renters insurance policy on the personal articles floater. The cost is not very much. Definitely worth adding NV & firearms.

Agreed. Our insurance company refers to it as Valuable Personal Property Insurance. Great for things like jewelry, firearms, night vision gear, camera equipment, etc. You're able to insure these items for their full value (as opposed to having a limit on what they'll pay out across your Homeowners or Renters Insurance Policy in the event of a fire or theft) and there's no deductible on it. With my insurance company, they state that the only exclusions include throwing an item away, dropping it in the garbage disposal, poor manufacturing and damage from mold and vermin.

This is why most everyone should have their night vision on a personal articles policy that covers mistakes.  My 4500 Nvg and 1500 dollar scope cost 54 dollars a year.

Tell me more about this.

You can add them to a homeowners or renters insurance policy on the personal articles floater. The cost is not very much. Definitely worth adding NV & firearms.

I'll talk to my agent and get something like this going. I'm sure I could still add my nvgs considering they work just fine still.

So, what is in those for tubes? How do you like the Sentinels compared to the MOD-3?

Out of those 3, which is your go-to set?

Here's my starting point:

Team Wendy Exfil LTP
S&S Precision Manta Strobe - Overt Green
Princeton Tec Switch MPLS - IR/White

Next up: Wilcox L4 G24 Mount in tan.

Don't know a ton about NODS, but for now, the AN/PVS-7 seems fairly reasonable in terms of my entry ticket into night vision. And being a biocular, I'm guessing it's less headache-inducing than a monocular? Also, is it dorky to be running a bump helmet with a mount and no NODS when I go shooting? Because that will be my reality for a long time.

Not if your HearPro is on your helmet.

Bro... Good point. Are the 3M Peltor Comtac Hearing Defenders ($250-ish) the least-expensive option for running the Team Wendy (or any other brand) headset adapters? I'm not asking about jerry-rigging some Howard Leight Sports, but the jump from $50 to $250 to have compatible ear pro seems a bit steep.

Those Sents are NoScos but I have Sents as well.
Right now my go to set is the black MOD3s cause they have my White Phosphor tubes.

My belief is that for a single person MOD3 with gain offer the most modularity. If I only had one set of Binos theat would be it.
I like how solid Sents are but only run them occasionally because I am loving the WP.

I don't know what it is, but I just can't get into the Chrome tubes. I am debating on parting with mine to move into standard green filmless tubes.

No, all Peltors have the same mounting system AFAIK.

Those are the $125 6S Peltors. Adapters were $65ish.

I got the Peltors in the EE for ~$50 and the adapters direct from TW. Trying to decide if I want to spend the $50 to upgrade the ear cups to gel or save that $ toward a Silynx setup.
