Route the wire through the vent hole and between the pads and the shell. You can tape it in place if you want.

I still need to do a few little tweaks and get the TNVC helmet task light and figure out how to run/secure my wire but otherwise it’s pretty much done.

Super happy with it for a semi budget setup.

Nice set up!

Yeah a couple of my friends were like “wow $5K for that set up! Holy shit bro” I laughed and said that most guys spend double that. My set up is nice but still very much budget comparatively lol.

Was ripping around in a golf cart with it last night. Super fun!

Ha thanks, it’s not exactly budget with WP but it was fun to wear for Halloween.

Finally stepped up to a carbon bump from a 10? yr old BASE jump and needed a little extra give on the ops arms for the cable guides after I resheathed the wires on my helmet mounted Sordins. I have ops core AMPs money, NFMI is best thing ever, but I don't have "spare set of AMPS on my helmet money" like most arfcommers.

still waiting on some stuff, old helmet cover and pouch didn't fit super high cut.

how things started after a little 3d design and printing in TPU, flexible cable guides snap right in to the amp arms:

Where things ended up:

I'm not really proud of myself, but I think the veins add just a little bit of spice. Also, they are squishy.

I watched the Garand Thumb video. It got me to thinking. I decided to experiment with some helmet scrim made from some cheap netting I had bought for Halloween decorations a few years back.

I’m not sure it’s going to stay, but I have a night hike with some guys this weekend and thought it see how bad it catches on stuff in the woods.

Added an Ops Core Nape pad to my crye nightcap. Game changer for $25 off eBay and ~5 minutes of work. 10/10 would recommend.

then saw that bravo six tactical boonie hat get up, and $17 on Amazon later, and two cuts on the back for the counterweight pouch strap/velcro. Love it and waaaayyy less dorky than the nightcap by itself. And ~$300 cheaper than a new setup.

Yes.

It's an excellent helmet with excellent features and an excellent price point.  I have an ops core Fast SF and Fast SF bump.

My biggest hang up with the TW products used to be their proprietary rails which sucked ass in my eyes.  The new Arc compatible rails are fantastic.  There are also no thru holes on the TW specialist.  It's a pretty neat construction process.

The only reason why I haven't purchased one for myself yet is because we are hoping to have them issued soon.

The Modular Bungee Shroud on the ops core products is the best shroud and retention system available.  The Specialists shroud is decent but the bungees or eye hooks as I call them need to go.  If it were my helmet, i'd tear those bungees off the second the helmet was in my hands.

Given the price point, I'd say just go get it.  I don't think you will be unhappy with the purchase.  Lastly, I think TW is offering a better "warranty" than ops core.  I think the "shelf life" of the TW product is ten years but don't quote me on that.

TW has unofficially said they are revising their bump helmets.

When they're coming and what they're going to look like is up in the air.

I would imagine they're going to go to an ARC style rail but that's pure speculation.  The TW rails suck.

I have never had any function issues with them. It’s just that they don’t fit the more common rail accessories.

Yeah a few years ago I had a Team Wendy Exfil and hated the proprietary rail. Made some accessories a pain. I would like an opscore but it's hard to justify 2x the cost.

The new Rail definitely makes it look like a winner in my book. Probably going to order one in a couple weeks.

My goal was the lightest setup with metal body dual tubes without getting wierd about it. I did pull my tnvc m300v off the helmet as I never used it. Its too bright in high mode, or has overlap with the pt charge pro in low mode, minus the utility if color options. So I swapped it out. And saved a few oz.

What Opscore nape system did you use? The ones I see have plastic fittings where they'd attach to a helmet, doesn't look like what you have.

Same one, you just cut off the plastic tabs you see, they have sewn loops you'll put the nightcap metal rings through, don't cut those, bend the metal clips on the nightcap, and then take off the other straps and put the h-nape straps on. Super simple, I used a pair of med shears to cut the plastic and a leather man to twist the rings apart. $25 on eBay.

My last post in this thread was two years ago and not much has changed lol.

Replaced a regular vampire head with the Tnvc version and moved to the left with a Variarc, so my non-dominant hand now activates it. Got some amazon iris's. And added Mru hooks and shock cord, because why not.

Kinda want to put my Sordins on there, but the only night shooting I've done is suppressed 22.

Love this setup. Much lighter than my previous setups after 15-20 min you really notice the reduction in weight.

I have one of these on a xxl bump. It fits front to back just fine. A little short over the rails but not enough to worry about.
