Yup.  Just read through their site and ordered a modern service model.

You will NOT be disappointed. I bought a Khukuri and a Bowie.
Not one second of buyer remorse.

Update picture of my sirupate and hot-spur blades.  I believe that the sheaths are being made.

@ROCK6

What is the purpose of the little gunsight looking notch in the blade?

@weptek911, it's mostly ceremonial, but is also said to be a blood-catch to keep it from getting onto the handle:

Notch In a Khukuri
The notch in kukri had many traditional and practical purpose.

According to traditional belief, the notch near the handle of the blade is a Hindu fertility symbol. It is also the footprint of a cow. So the notch forbids slaughtering sacred animal such as cow with it. The Gurkhas also kept promises with it that they will never use this weapon on women and children.

Nevertheless, the knife being a lethal weapon, the notch on it is for the blood to drip off rather than running onto the handle, and thereby prevent the handle from becoming slippery, so the user can maintain his grip for further demonstration. The other most important thing about this is no other knife has this distinctive character in them and only kukri is the design where we can find notch.

Thank you! I thought it had to be something traditional.

Update: my blades arrived!

there is something great about receiving a package wrapped in paper and twine.

No fancy pictures or background yet.  This is right after I wiped down the blades and set them on the counter.
