I'm surprised that they're including this rail on the current SP5 giveaway, I know that UTG/Leapers has a us-made line but they've not historically had the best reputation for quality.

Have any of you put this Rail on your SP5 or clones? If so does it fit securely without side to side movement etc??

The optic is the oldschool Eotech 552 AA Battery configuration.

On a 9mm PCC I'm sure it's strong enough but I personally prefer traditional handguards and a clamp-on rail mount, or no optic at all :-)

That being said I'm sure any of us would not complain if we won!

Most of the UTG stuff I've seen of late has been pretty well made.

That said I put Midwest mounts on my HK clones.

I tried an MI mount- didn't work for me, the screws weren't long enough.  Did some reading and found this was a common issue with them, but hopefully its been corrected by now.

I have used B&T mounts with 100% success.  The hardware is beefy, and I've been able to mount them on clones that other mounts wouldn't play nicely with, most likely due to the guns being slightly out of spec and admittedly really to no fault of the mount.

A buddy of mine got the UTG setup.  I personally wouldn't do it due to it killing the lines of the gun, and part of the appeal to me is definitely the classic nostalgic look.  However, he loves it, and I can certainly say its well made.  If your not concerned with the aesthetic, its a very functional setup that really gives you some flexibility in terms of setting it up.

I saw some posts from people saying they had issues with the Midwest mount after I ordered mine.

It took a bit of fussing with the screws to get them on but I was able to install them on both my MKE clones.

The 552 offended me more than the rail.
