I'm primarily a Kershaw assisted folder kind of guy. Have a whole box of them.  I mostly gift them to my kids, one or more for every birthday/Christmas.

I've been looking at breaking out from the mold and I'm looking for suggestions for sub $100 folders, models/brands.

Civivi is one name I've seen.  Opinions?  Other brands?

This super cheap knife (as in $8.97 cheap) works for me when I can't carry an auto. Husky folding knife at Home Depot

I have a bad habit of "donating" them to TSA at airports so I like a really, really cheap knife when I travel.

Civivi is good to go.

CJRB is better fit and finish than some benchmade!

Spyderco’s BYRD Line is solid

Honey Badger out of Africa is decent

Kubey is middle of the road

Kizer is good to go

The cheapest best folder is a RAT 1.   The best value is a Spyderco Endura.

HF's newest release. D2 steel, carbon fiber inlay G10 scales, ceramic bearings, and a lifetime warranty for $40. I had a coupon for 20% off Icon, so I got it for about $33. Not my fav, but can't argue about the price.

Came in to post the same.  I'm going to grab one.  I really like the Gerber Paul, but they're just to valuable and collectable for me to use as an edc knife.

If you can find one cheap, the Schrade 306 ultraglide is a nice blade, it's chinesium of course, but mine has been great, 9cr18mov, flat grind but with seriously thick spine, it's got some heft to it. Ball bearing pivot with a flipper and the action is glassy smooth and has a nice tight lockup. My only gripe is the scales are too smooth, needs some checkering.

Got mine a few years ago at SMKW when they had a sale and were selling Schrade dirt cheap, 8 bucks is what I paid, now they are going for 35-45 bucks, not sure i'd pay that much for it but if you can find it for under 30 it's a great everyday blade.

Chicago Knife Works sells them at about 28 bucks looks like, but I just checked and they're OOS right now.

Aside from being Chinese, I pulled out a couple Ruike knives the other day and they're extremely solid, quality knives.

While the materials are cheaper, the fit and finish are top notch and this is a $35 folder (Ruike P801 Frame lock). They're a little heavier with the full steel frames, but for the price, they're pretty damn good.

I'm the same with the Kershaw blades, easy to hoard and solid kit.

Civivi is new to me but I'm liking mine so far.

No longer available unless you can find one online somewhere but the Kershaw Scamp was a $20 knife when I got mine. Liked it so much I bought a second and tossed it into the drawer for a backup. Yeah, it was Chinese made but the blade takes a edge well and lasts a while between sharpenings.

Really CHEAP folder? Tractor supply had some. Cold steel folders for under $10. I grabbed them all to give as gifts! The KUDU LITE model…wicked sharp. I’m just keeping one as a truck knife. I like knives of all shapes sizes and quality but cheap and good is hard to pass up!

Case mini copperlock and buck squire. Medium stockman from both is always good. Swiss Army knives are great too.

I use the Kabar Dozier folders as cheap travel knives.  Throw one in checked bag or mail to the destination.  They used to be even cheaper but inflation…

I keep a SOG Autoclip at my sisters for when I’m there.

I like lockbacks for cheap knives as I’ve seen cheap liner and frame locks fail.  They also tend to be lighter because they’re liner-less with FRN handles.

Some of the Byrd line from Spyderco is nice too.

Victorinox Soldiers knife shop around a little and you can find them under $60.
After using one for several years I can understand why so many country's issue this or other Victorinox models to their troops.
