I was wondering if there's enough meat in front of the barrel band and mag tube for threading.

If so, I'm wondering if one of ECCO's Salamanders would give enough clearance to use the tube mag.

From the end of the barrel to the tube is .375" and 3.00" to the tube dovetail.

The business end on the one I saw in my local Cabelas is like this:


It looks as if there is maybe enough to simply thread. It's an earlier 22" 18 shot version. May just need to grab the calipers and head back out there.

I have 2 of them. One I bought in 1977 has the bunny on the stock. The one in the picture I bought around 81-82. The ends are both the same.
