They might not call it a GB model but it's close enough for government work. It's kind of pricy too.

Love it when a plan comes together.

$1850 is a bit steep, but used ones go for about $1500.

Too bad it’s illegal in my commie state.

The price includes a free IQ test. Because if you pay $1850 for one you might be retarded

Gentlemen, please. Cogburn Arsenal can provide an aftermarket solution.

https://cogburnarsenal.com/product/mini-14-gb-front-sight-pin-on/

Fitments available for any barrel once the diameter is known.

They also make a stripper clip guide for metal or Thermold type so as to load from clips if desired.

If you don't like M7 bayonets, I think you could have it fitted for M14 bayonets or the Swiss 57.

Yup, you can buy a new stainless tactical rifle and the stock from Samson for less. Have both stocks or sell the original on ebay, if you're willing to pay that much for the gun.

Was thinking the same thing... and you'll probably have a more "useful" rifle.  I'm still watching some local shops with good used turnover for a Mini30 to do this....

New rifle will run you about $1100.  The Samson stock is around $300, so $1400-ish to put one together.  Ruger tends to have a high MSRP, street price will probably be a couple hundred less.  Maybe more.  Still an expensive proposition. Probably sell a few hundred, maybe a few thousand.

Part of me wants one, I have a soft spot for Minis.  But to much other stuff on the list.

That’s just the combo I put together a couple years ago, I figure it got me 90% to a GB for a lot less than this new offering. I like bayonets but I don’t need a bayo lug that bad.
Hopefully though, this means we’ll be able to buy some factory nickel 20 round  mags from Ruger soon. Stainless Minis just look right with silver mags.

Same here, I did mine in August. Factory nickel mags would be the bomb. I got a promag just for the look and it actually runs pretty good so far.

Yes. It's extremely overgassed though. You'll need a different gas block at the least.

ETA: Bushing not block. Brain fart.

Aside from the cool A-team vibe, I never found the folding stock to be very practical.  Had a stainless Mini long ago and had the Falcon folder on it, which was pretty much identical, except for the pistol grip.  Shooting with the cheek on a tube wasn’t particularly comfortable, and when folded and locked the folded buttplate left an impression in the wood around the lug it locked into.  Not for $1800, no way.

But if you want to fire folded and not hit anything, just like the A-team, I guess it’s an option.

Can confirm that you used to be able to find SS minis and the stock for cheaper than that GB.  Can also confirm that doing it that way, you get a shorter OAL, which was worth the extra hassle to me for a folding rifle.  Why get a rifle that can be compact, and then make it not compact?

But I absolutely will be buying some teflon coated mags.

Agree. The 16" barrel tactical is just about perfect without becoming SBR. The only reason that new 18.5" "GB" wanna be Mini has it's place is nalstalgia. But price is too too too high. Bayonet on folding stock mini was impractical back then and now too.

Same here, sort of…Indeed, it has an 18” barrel to utilize a bayonet. Wouldn’t work on a 16”. I much prefer the 16” Mini’s, but should Ruger introduce a blued GB, I just may pick one up.

I have a 16" tactical in 300 with the blued/black Samson stock.

I've put a silencer and a primary arms 3x micro-prism on it and it's become my favorite semi-auto

I really hope Ruger will start offering the nickel-teflon magazines for sale. The Mini series needs good corrosion resistant magazines. I'd also love for Lancer to make magazines for the Mini series.

Now that the "brace" matter should be settled for a while, I would hope for two things:

1. Ruger to offer the mini-14 in a Pistol version with the front sight top for the gas block and 11" barrel

2. Samson to offer a side folder with a tail hook instead of shoulder butt.

Samson makes a QD socket that works with the folding stock-

https://www.samson-mfg.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=SS-QD-ADPT

And Samson's Hannibal rail comes with a QD sling mount, and a pic rail to allow a light.
