I decided to give the # a call (even thought I hate doing so) Still pending. No reason to hate doing so. Your not taking away from the examiners time, because it isn't the examiners answering the phone. The people answering the phone are doing their job, which is answering the phone. Doesn't hurt to call a couple times. Obviously don't be annoying, but calling to check on the status isn't wrong, and it can actually save you some time and disappointment, if the transfer is being held up. ETA: I usually call about 1.5-2 months in, to verify pending status, then around the point that everyone is saying they're coming back(so currently this is around 4 months), but Im usually told its still pending, and a few weeks later my dealer calls me anyways. |
|
I sent in two FORM 1 and a FORM4, all individual back in September. All arrived same day 7 weeks from date of mailing out. That was the fastest turnaround I've had for some time.
|
|
Form 4s that went pending in August seem to be taking longer than Form 4 that went pending in July.
I had a mid July MG form 4, and I received the stamp three days after the four month mark. I'm now past the four month mark for August, and no stamp. Maybe they're on holiday break. |

This is my 20th stamp but has been one of the hardest to maintain patience for.
Purchased: 5/04 (SilencerShop Direct) Form 3 approved: 6/27 Form 4 sent: 7/14 (WTF SS? Thanks for sitting on it for 2 weeks!) Check cashed: 8/4 (WTF #2! Haven't seen such a long sent-to-check period on NFA tracker... ATF slow/USPS slow/or that sent date was a lie) This transfer from the day of purchase until today w/ no stamp has been testing my patience seriously and I've had to wait nearly a year before. |

I came in today hoping to have a post Christmas gift.
I have a pending form 4 from mid August and another pending form 4 that went pending August 20. Both forms are still pending. I wonder if it's because of the holiday break and the examiners being on holiday vacation. |

I'm noticing a lot of paper Form 1s are getting approved around 4 months and form 4s are still going over that. Not fair.
|
|
I was told five months when I submitted a Form 4 back in September, but the wait times being reported here were all consistently right around four months (120 days). Had that trend continued, all the August submissions would be back by now, but that's not the case unfortunately. Stamps approved in December began to show a trend of creeping back up around 130 days. Reports here and on NFA tracker are starting to show stamps coming back between 130-150 days.
I was hoping to get mine back this month, as Jan 16th will be 120 days, but It's looking more like 150 days, meaning the ATF was accurate with the five month estimate. I hope I'm wrong. I've got another Form 4 that went pending October 23rd. For the record Item: SiCo Omega Method: Paper Form 4 (Trust) Mailed: Sept 10th (arrived Sept 17th due to USPS delays) Check cashed: Sept 21st (ACH) Pending: Sept 18th (called in October) Approved: - Examiner: - Stamp Received: - |

Don't count on that mid September submission any time soon. My stamp was pending August 17, and according to my call the the NFA branch this morning, is still pending. Form 4 trust on a suppressor.
