The Perfect Backup Red Dot? Holosun SCRS Review I’ve been liking my SCRS a lot and think there’s a case to be made for it being the quintessential backup red dot. Thoughts? |

The case for sending it back to Holosun for a dead internal battery is dubious at best. I'm sticking to my RMR and Acro P2.
Edited a word. |

View Quote That's funny given that Acro P2s, while being better than the p1, are still dying pretty fast in comparison to the entire aimpoint lineup. I personally think the srcs is kinda an abomination. In what world should it have used the 509t footprint? I still like aimpoint micro footprint dots for backup dots personally, with "pistol" dots being the next level down. |

A quintessential backup red dot has excellent NV passive aiming performance and minimal parallax error (i.e. T2). I'm very doubtful that this SCRS provides those.

View Quote I wish I had NV to test that aspect. As for parallax, I didn’t notice anything but I also didn’t test it specifically. |

In terms of Ultimate Backup, I'm hoping we see a 1x Prism with a Aimpoint T2 format, using the AUG Donut-Dot reticle.
-Prism is etched reticle in case electronics fail, still works -Donut Dot reticle highly visible even without illumination |

Way too tall. Not for me, thanks.
I prefer Aimpoint T1s for 12 o'clock. Why? [couchcommandorant] * RMR is small and durable, but T1 has enclosed emitter if mud/snow are factors for you. * ACRO is enclosed emitter, but T1 has proven durability (ACRO TBD). * Why not a T2? Because the T1 is ever-so-slightly smaller, cheaper on the used market, and I'll never magnify it (which apparently the T2 is better at). [/couchcommandorant] |

I have been using it as a primary because of its lightness.
* although it is a 509 footprint, it is higher than the 509 and its cannot not be mounted on all mounts, and if the mount can put the lever on the either side, it may not fit on it based on where its cross bar is. |

I've been watching these guys' suppressor videos lately (interesting pattern in their setups but I digress) and happened to catch this about the SCRS at 15:54 :
East County Loadouts He's changing it out because it does "terrible" for light transmission under NV. Not ultimate. |
