If someone happens to have a receiver-height gas block and gas block-height front sight, would you bolt them together and measure the nominal distance between the top of post or deck/shelf and the top of the journal or barrel, please?
I have an RIA TM22 project currently zeroed POA-POI at 100yds with standard velocity ammo, the post of which is approximately 2.70" above bore, proud of the ears. If my math is correct, switching to the mentioned gas block/sight setup would damn near bottom out the front sight. Would the best compromise be using a commercial-height carry handle?
I know this gun was meant to slap a red dot on and plink at a steel challenge match, but why the fuck did they make the receiver rail more like HK height?
Attached FileI refined elevation after this photo, approx 0.025" to bottom out.
