Thanks and I think it was a 1# with the laptop resting on top of it.  We only found little chunks here and there, and a ~8" divot taken out of the ground.

You reload like HiPower shooter .  I know you are, so I'm just teasing you.  I was actually surprised at how much it jumped during recoil.  Isn't that an HBAR?  Is yours FF?  No weight in the buttstock?  I'll have to take a video of me shooting my Govt' A2 and see how much it jumps for me.

Correct. I used dad's old upper with DPMS barrel that has a slight taper. 9.5-10lbs. It torqued in my shoulder. I still have scruff to enhance cheekweld. I need a haircut so my cap quits wandering into my sight line.

Pic thread.

That's a tall sumbitch. Looks like you could use BUIS/target I.D. just through the gap itself

Exactly what it does. Also gives you a more natural "heads up" position and helps with using NVG through the optic.

Easier to shoot in low light, washes out in bright light, and clicks arent crisp.

I want to try a 3 MOA dot with crisp 0.5 MOA finger adjustable clicks, sorta like the Ultradot 6, but the objective lens is 2mm too big.

What mount is that?  It looks taller than normal height, no?

@HighpowerRifleBrony

Munzy, I totally dig your set up.  I've set up my recce with a laser and RDS and it's a very cool way to go.  At this point I feel like I still need some buis cuz I have an el cheap RDS on there. But maybe I'll remedy that someday.

Your laser is probably an IR one though, eh?

Weaver tactical one-piece SPR scope mount. #48377

From top of rail to optic centerline is 1.56" . If the measurements on my A2 are correct, it would be 1.43". With a good cheekweld, the dot is in the lower 1/3 of the tube, about where the top of a post would be.

Dunno if it's actually a "lower 1/3 cowitness" mount since it's meant for scopes.

I had the range to myself yesterday, and decided practice with my work gear a little bit.

Issued Colt 6720, Aimpoint, etc. with full plates and all the other crap that finds its way in to or on to a carrier.  I load 5 rounds each in 4 rifle and pistol mags.  Rifle targets were between 100 and 150 yards, pistol targets were between 12 and 50 yards.  I know retaining the mags isn't super tactical, but I didn't want to re-trace 750 yards each time to gather mags, so I stuck them in a stuff sack.  I ran it a total of 6 times with 3 different rifles.  I do this drill as frequently as I can, and I'm always a little surprised how quickly my shooting deteriorates.  I am in pretty good shape, run and work out quite a bit, and by the 6th time, I was spent!  This drill has also shown me how difficult some of my pouches are to use.  It's a bitch getting mags out sometime, especially with the slung rifle hanging in front.  Sorry the videos are so long.  If I were smarter, I'd figure out how to fast-forward through the running portions.

It's a Midwest Industries front sight tower mount.  It's relatively inexpensive and puts the light in the right place. I like it a lot, and have it on all of my rifles that still have a front sight tower.

It does work well.  And it's built well.  And goes on and off with the same tool or size allen head you use for grip screws / bolts.

It’s a LC-7-40-M16.

Here’s a link to more info on them. I did the same modification that the guy in the link did but it didn’t stand up to the recoil of 9mm lol. Still a fun little cheap retro reflex sight.
