Ok, I’m retarded. You guys are right. I just put a level back on it and it’s canted. I know my rail is a tad off center but it definitely looked worse than that. All fixed now. Thanks for the assist boys

So I didn’t like the SFCT, I was getting more ping from that than the 249f-s I have. So that being said, I went back to the 249f-s. I think it looks more fitting also. And it’s amazingly balanced without the bipod attached, so it’s probably gonna run most of the time without it.

It has a very balanced appearance too.  I don't really like how my scope is so far forward.  But if it isn't, I can't use it.  It ruins the balance though.

This is even further back than it really needs to be.....

A heavier stock in the back can help shift that weight a little further back. That featherweight you got on there sure ain't helping (though you get cool points).

You’re giving me ideas with that CAR stock! I’m gonna pic one up to swap out with the CTR from time to time. I agree 100% with the optics. I didn’t get an extended mount bc I was worried about throwing the balance off. I knew with the bipod mounted it would be front heavy anyway, even more so once there’s a can on the front. I had the optic in 22h’s and getting a good sight picture was a pain. So I sold off my 22’s to TinyCrumb for his MK12 and picked up a badger mount, which I really like.

The car stock looks cool (milspec ).   And it's really good prone or kneeling / sitting.  It's not overly great offhand unless you're really leaning forward.   I tried a CTR once.  I felt like I had to embed my teeth into my gum to look down my sights.  Not sure why.  Maybe I wasn't tilting my head as much as I should be.  But it just didn't feel right.  I like how it has the place to put your support hand underneath it when shooting prone though.....

I like the B5 bravo, but sometimes the angle of it bugs me.  So then when shooting prone it's not as nice.  It's real nice offhand though.  LOL.   I guess I'm kind of picky but it's just par for the course.  I've yet to try one that seems great for everything.  Maybe there isn't one.  Although there are a lot I haven't tried.....

An A1 stock is pretty darn good, but a bit heavy....

And yeah, that mount you got is pretty cool.  I see that style more and more now.    It's more like what he had...  Although I can't really tell what it is exactly.

Yeah, I hear ya.  When I put an A1 on there it feels like a different gun.  But then it's just heavier overall.......  But it does almost FEEL lighter.

If you put a second low-pro gas block on(essentially 2 gas blocks), it holds the collar on just the right distance to work.

It will take a lot to make me switch from my Burris, especially if they price this thing $2000 plus

$17XX for the NX8 and $27XX for the ATACR. Cool optics but I like my larger exit pupil and more forgiving eye box. When a 1-10x42 type optic finally hits the market I’ll be game.

I'm down with a 1-8 NX8.  Hopefully street price will be ~$1,500.00.  I can live with that.

I'm in the process of slowy building a recce, and I need to start looking at barrels. I'm at a toss up as to what to choose. I know typically to get the stainless. Obviously 16". Do any of you have a recommendation for a barrel to get in the $200-300 range? This will be a range toy, and maybe some occasional hunting. Thanks!

Hopefully he keeps the measurements.  I'll buy one as well.

While I tried the two gas block thing for fitment, I didn't shoot it that way.  I got 7 revolutions of the can, so whatever it comes out to is perfect.

He asked me for the measurements for the thread shoulder to the step and from the bare muzzle to the step. I think it can most likely be accomplished by moving the step on the inside of a long collar from the front to the rear. The difference in distance is like 8/10 of an inch (around that anyway).

I mocked it up and threaded the can on and got 7 twists with this setup.  I didn't shoot it though.  Just messing around until I could figure a proper spacer, but if he's going to make a proper/spaced collar, I may go that route.

The second gas block measures 1" (PRI).
