Make sure you didn't swap the takedown pin detent spring and the safety detent spring. Had that happen a couple of weeks ago. The springs looked the same until I looked close and saw the wire size was a hair different.

They were packaged separately and color coded... If I got them backward its CMMG's fault lol... The Pivot pin spring and detent seem to work great... The Safety detent channel didn't look so hot when I looked at it before putting it in...

The last CMMG LPK I got had most of the parts missing, so I didn't get to see the detent springs (someone at the shop used it to build a lower and someone else threw it back on the shelf), but someone at the factory could have goofed. Can't hurt to swap 'em and see if that fixes the problem.

This is my first AR build. It was a LOT easier than I expected.

Upper: BCM 16' Carbine
Lower: Spikes Tactical
Parts Kit: Daniel Defense
Bolt Carrier: BCM
Charging handle: Gunfighter-Medium
Buffer: BCM H2
Buffer tube: BCM Mil Spec
Stock: Magpul CTR
Rear Site: Matech (Roommate gave it to me)
Handguards: Standard

Parts on the way:
Magpul MIAD grip
Troy Industries Battle sight
Troy VTAC padded sling

Parts that will be added once the rifle is zeroed in and I can fire a decent group:
DD Omega 7
Forward grip (Brand unknown)
DD QD sling attachment points.

Pic (Was waiting for a friend to show up so I put the sticker on the stock to entertain myself. I may or may not remove it.)

Here's my first build and my first post here on ARF....
Was able to build this for just barely over $1000 (hence the 'less expensive' parts list)
But it's pretty solid, and I was able to get round through a 'quarter-sized-coin' at 100yds
Lightweight?... HA!

...And if your wondering if the snake is a political reference or a Metallica reference...
....you'd be correct on both counts.   Rock on.

Nice. My poor carbine is getting Vltor-ified shortly. I've been sold on Vltor EMod stocks for a couple of years, so I'm just going nuts on it. MUR-1A, Vltor gas block, BCM charging handle (all my ARs for the last 3 years have had them), and so on. My wallet, however, is not happy.

Just finished my first build. Range was outstanding. Red dot spot on and through 120 rnds down range. Started shooting my glock 17 after about 60 rounds, needless to say, i didnt finish the 150 9mm rounds i brought with me.

Such a smooth gun. Had the Trigger pin creep out a bit causing the trigger to lock to the rear, pressed it back in and she was GTG.

Finally decided what rail I'm going to use on my build :)

A Spikes Tactical 12 " BAR Rail... Unless they'll sell me a 13" ;) But I think the 13" is a Seekins Precision thing (I know Seekins makes all of them, but I want the spider logo lol )

Does anyone have a 16" barrel with a 12" BAR rail installed ? (Pics ? )

Build Specs:
-Upper Receiver: Seekins Precision iRMT-R Upper
-Barrel: Rainier Arms 13.7 223 Wylde Barrel
-Forend: Seekins Precision MCSR 15" Hand Guard
-BCG: Fail Zero NiB BCG
-CH: BCM Gunfighter Mod 3
-Gas Block: Seekins Precision Gas Block
-Front Sight: Troy Folding Battle Sight
-Rear Sight:Troy Folding Battle Sight
-Muzzle: Noveske KX3
-Optics: Leupold C/QB
*still need forward assist, and dust cover. May change to a lighter optic down the road.

-Lower Receiver: Seekins Precesion Gen2 Lower
-LPK/Trigger: RRA 2 stage NM
-Buttstock: MAGS EFX-A1 Fixed Stock w/JP Captured spring

Not sure I really like the grip that came with the lpk, maybe change it out down the road. Going to add an ambi safety selector soon. Feels well balanced just moving around in the garage, cant wait to get it out to the range.

Interesting stock, haven't seen that one.

I have at least a half dozen A2 grips in my random parts box and every time I clean something up I find another one. No one likes the A2 grip.

I recommend the Noveske selector. I have the single sided version and it's great. Never thought I'd spend $30 on a selector, but it's worth it.

Very well done. How's the eye relief on your magnifier? I'm looking for a new one to match up with my 552. I currently have an UTG, I like it, but the eye relief is tight.

Very well done. How's the eye relief on your magnifier? I'm looking for a new one to match up with my 552. I currently have an UTG, I like it, but the eye relief is tight.

Thank you sir! And the eye relief is a couple inches. Its good enough for me. it allows me to shoot without having my nose on the charging handle. I think they are $110 from Primary Arms, but i got it free with the eotech in a package deal they had running. Its crystal clear too, however it is china made, if that bothers you.
