I have two SuperDuty uppers and on one the barrel looks green in the light?  It’s around two years old is it a coating they used to put on thier barrels.

The greenish ones were phosphate coated. The blacker finish may have been black oxide. I own both and both are fine. No issues with rust shooting out in the rain all day but I spray the barrels of my rifles with birchwood casey barricade once or twice a year.

Phosphate coatings routinely have a green tinge to them in direct lighting.

Having owned both, the black oxide was definitely darker black and the phosphate looks a lot like anyone else's.  If phosphate barrels get dried out and looking weird for any reason,  I just oil them, wipe off the excess well, and that will make them look darker/uniform again.

I'm getting a dead link to your image. When opening it in a new tab, I see that the forum requires you to be logged in to see images hosted there.

Yep - I concur.
I'm assuming you don't have the image upload option here because you're not at least a Bronze member. Imgur is a great substitute - particularly if you want to post images on other sites too. There's a hair of a learning curve, but it's not too bad. It also has some nice options for image organization, automatic thumbnail creation, etc.

That looks like Cerakote

Yeah- totally different than another complete upper I bought that is phosphate and a blem 12.5 barrel I bought. Chamber too….. A Garand I used to have had a greenish tint parkerizing.

I'd pull the handguard, give it a good oiling, see if it doesn't look a bit darker.
The parked barrel will never look as black as the black anodized handguard though.

That's darker than any M14 park that I've come across.

OP, is that a blem barrel?

ETA: Was it sold as a blem, to be clear?

I bought it as a complete upper straight from Geissele, not a blem.

It doesn’t bother me but I was just curious if anyone else out there might have received the same?  Thanks for looking and advice.

The difference between a Geissele blem and Geissele standard SKU product is often blurred.

To post an image you need to put Img in brackets at the beginning of the url of your image and  /img in brackets at the end of the url. It would look like this.

Then you get thus

I have a few different rifles that have that tint if I shine a flashlight in my safe.

I've got a couple, but not that vivid, even under direct lighting.

Welcome to the green phosphate club.

There’s also the blue nitride club, the silver nitride club, and the purple anodizing clubs you may wish to join.

Manganese phosphate will have that greenish tint to it under bright light if the parkerizing solution hadn't had any steel wool or something similar when starting out fresh.
Adding the steel wool when the solution is up to 200° will give it the very dark grey/black look after dipping in oil.

(<did the parkerizing at Barrett for quite a few years)
