Scored an old school Geissele rail a few weeks back, mainly because of the color. The anodizing on this rail really impressed me, so I picked it up and built a 13.9 inch upper with it. Kinda wish it was MLOK, but I still dig it, plus it's the 13 inch model. Next time I take this thing out to the range I will get some more pics in better lighting.

Yeah, it's gray/silver. 6061 usually anodizes in that color when clear anodized. It's a nice looking rail!

“Dirty Bronze” anodized titanium takedown pins from TiConnector. Seem pretty good initial impression but still haven’t got the rest of my LPK to install. Dang purdy though, especially for only $28..

Nice! I think NF’s tanodizing is my favorite shade. Wish I could get receiver sets in it.

I’m starting to think too much tano can be a thing on my G$ build.

-DDC receivers, rail, tube, and charging handle.
-Fortis tano ratcheting castle nut.
-Fortis tano 50* ambi safety.
-Fortis tano mag release and button.
-PMM tano bolt release device.
-FCD tano ejection port door (Magpul broke).
-Ticonnect tano take down pins.
-Strike (I know, I know) tano forward assist.
-Cloud Rein 3.0 tano.
-ADM tano ACOG mount.
-ACOG is getting coated to mimic tano.
-Bolt group is FDE PVD which looks like tano.

87 shades of tano FDE. Still waiting on the P&W and trigger but not sure I like what I’m seeing so far. The tano FCD and Fortis stuff is so light it looks like clear ano and on the lighter side at that.

Who knows though, as the bronze DDC lower has started really growing on me with coyote furniture.

Don't overthink it, 5000 shades or no club card for you!

Just to refresh your memory, mine is chock full of "nothing matches at all" tone structure. It works..

I need to get it out in better light at some point to really show the absurdity..

Edit: It would be really cool if JP would do an LMOS carrier in some variation of Tano / FDE PVD coating

That is one of my favorite tank builds too. I’ll have to see how it turns out.

I tried to find a tano ACOG. Found one for sale for $2500. I think I cal live with Cerakote there.

Is your Aimpoint sprayed or one of the wicked rare Vickers ones? Another that costs a pretty impressive penny if you can find one.

Not Tano, but...

I forgot about this one. It's TiN (PVD) and truly a fantastic BCG, but STUPID blingy. For the $$$, I don't regret it at all.

Still, looks like what an Aztec warlord would have in his AR..

It's actually a Sig Romeo 4T in FDE Cerakote. I can live with that too. I looked for a Tano Aimpoint T2 (Ltd run) and they're rare as hens teeth and stupid $$$

Thank, I forgot I posted it over there, I lose track of all the threads

Bad Attitude Dept has clear ano receivers and they seem to have a duller finish more akin to the HB barrel nut. The Aero receivers are a bit shiny.

Most of them are OOS but I get back in stock notifications from them pretty regularly.

Funny you brought up Bad Attitude Dept. I just sold one a few weeks back I bought from them months ago. Doh! I really don't need any of this stuff, but clear ano is just too cool.

I still have a spare Kodiak Brown receiver set in my parts bin, but I’m resisting the urge to buy one of these clear sets…
If they had a Clear Ano handguard in length shorter than 15” I wouldn’t be able to stop myself.

Funny, I still have the M4E1 Kodiak Brown upper in the bin. I have no need to really change anything up, but clear ano is badass. I may just sell off the KB upper as I don't see using it. Maybe.. maybe not.

Would LOVE to see G do a clear ano MK8 9.5" rail. ooh...

Edit: I just realized I'm sitting on an Aero KB buffer tube too in the bin. I wish they'd do that in clear ano. Hmm... And, to circle back to Arisaka. I want them to do a clear ano MLOK finger stop. Just like they did with my WML mount. I asked them awhile back, no plans. I think I'll bug them again.

Edit II: Well, shit. Looks like Aero did do the RE in clear ano. I just got on the wait list.. I missed that one the first time around.

That's the reason I ended up with the HB handguard. I'm using a 14.5 barrel so the 15" rails weren't going to work.

Just got a back in stock notification for another HB handguard......I'm trying to resist

If anyone has a clear anodized Aero enhanced buffer tube (RE) they don't need, I'm your Huckleberry. I've got a new Aero Kodiak Brown enhanced buffer tube I'd trade even up if that would work too.

Carry on.

PS - FedEx just brought my Aero clear ano stripped upper. Looks great. Still on the fence if I'll swap it onto the Tano build.

Subtle but does look better in my opinion.

My ACOG is all done with the burnt bronze Cerakote and I pick the upper up from pin and weld on Friday. If all goes as planned I’ll be punching some holes with the new tano build by Saturday.

Definitely not a fan of the FCD and Fortis tano. Might change those out some day but oh well for now. The G$ copper tano grew on me so who knows.

Also have a coyote RIT dyed BCM grip on the way from Zanie. About to give up on Trijicon ever making RMR mounts for the compacts. Will probably grab a tano L&S PB3 and a tano offset Reptilia ACRO mount.

Good eye. Had it coated in burnt bronze. Same color as the ACOG.

And thanks! Was trying to keep it as light as possible. With everything pictured minus the loaded mag it weighs 7.75 pounds. My lightest fully equipped rifle and my new go to if it runs good.

Just a heads up... "Lead and Steel" has a bunch of tano and other colored ano parts available for pretty cheap. Almost everything is available in tan, grey, or green, all anodized.
They have assembled uppers (w/ FA and EPC) for $70
https://leadandsteel.co/product/arc-mil-spec-stripped-upper-receiver-forged-7075-t6-charcoal-earth-olive/

Buffer tubes for $25
https://leadandsteel.co/product/arc-mil-spec-buffer-tube-7075-t6-6-pos-receiver-extension-type-iii-anodized/

3 handguards (two are 15", one is 13"), a variety of complete lowers and uppers, and some complete rifles.
https://leadandsteel.co/product-category/rifles/arc/
https://leadandsteel.co/product-category/rifles/jag-rifle/
Shipping appears to be flat rate $9.

I haven't used their stuff but I do know they are a legit operation. They make/import optics too, with matching color options.

I'm going to get some stripped uppers and maybe a handguard to try out. But at this point I'm not vouching for quality, so give them a try at your own risk.

Yea, I just looked at the Breek products and I think you are absolutely right. I decided to just buy 2 stripped uppers, one tan and one green. They came out to $75 each with shipping, so we'll see how they look when they arrive. If the uppers looks good I might try one of the 13" handguards but the price on those isn't much better than Geissele blem/BF sales....

Thanks! I caught the lucky side of tano variance with this shade (I'm not huge on the pale gold that DDC seems to mostly adhere to nowadays). The darker brown, red earth hues speak to me

This was a blem that I bought 24 hours ago lol. I was going to re-use a MK16 but the pinned gas block *will not* budge so the barrel nut is stuck on the old, shot out barrel.

Fwiw the only "blem" I can find is a very minor streak running down one side of the rail. You'd never notice it unless you were very, very precious about cosmetic stuff.
