i used my handloads. 77gr Sierra TMK's, 23.4gr of 8208XBR, CCI BR-4 primers. the handful of 75gr hornadys i tried didnt perform well enough. the TMK was immediately better.

The holland is amazing. I am terrible. i hit about 4 times out of 20 tmk shot. several close shots in addition to the hits. I also barely missed a clay spotter at 1050yds by 2". the dope was (maxed out the mk4 and had to mil hold on top) 44min + 1mil with 10-12min wind dialed in. the closest 2 hits and 2 edge hits are mine on the 20" gong.

Color me impressed.  So,  I'm a little confused, which ones did you get the most hits with?  Your handloads or the TMK's?

DSG has their 16" SPR barrel on sale for $169. Looks like it's profiled for the ops inc collar.

This is how my mk12 build started....

Aaaaaah.   My bad.  In that other pic when I saw the Black Hills box you had the ammo in and said they were TMK's, I assumed it was Black Hills and not your reloads.  Sorry about that.

So the TMK's shoot well for you and I think they're supposed to be really good for terminal performance.   Nice.

Just so I'm clear: a little over 1000yds out of a 16" barrel with 5.56?

Spent some intimate time with the Holland lower today. Took the slop out of the wiggling SOCOM buffer tube with a small wrap of teflon tape then loctited my set screw in place. The tube is rock solid now.

Which of the old ACE socom stocks is it that's the clone correct one and is worth the stupid money now? I've been wanting to do an H and I have a buddy that has a few of the different generations he's wanting to get rid of for newer stuff. He said I could take my pick if I would sell the others for him.

It's all good, bro! No worries here. It only had a tiny bit of wobble, but it was enough to bug me so I addressed it. I got nothing but love for ya, man! I honestly think it's just a fault in Ace's design, hence why I think they went to the castle nut in later gen stocks.

Cool, so is the rifle length more correct or the carbine length tube? What are they going for? I saw someone mention $800 but I figured that had to be the crackhead price like that $2k KAC MRE rail a week or so back

Carbine is the more correct one.  I don't know what they are going for, but if it's even above $300 that's absurd and I'd just run one of the Magpul options.

nikiel09 put a rifle length on his issued mk12. eveey other mk12 that runs a socom is a carbine, as that was how they were issued. gen 1 square latch and clamp on receiver end cap

Current asking prices for Gen 1 SOCOMs is just ridiculous. Keep an eye out for a good deal and just run another clone correct stock for now; just my $0.02.
