Was debating trying to find a 3.5-10 for my build. Love the way it looks with that scope. Might have to grab one off the EE now.

Da-yam,
both configurations are super-fresh.

This came today.

Compass Lake, Douglas SPR 416 SS, CLE Match chamber. CLE was awesome to deal with. The craftsmanship that went into the barrel is evident, and looks simply amazing. I can't wait to see what it can do.

The "Parker Gray" DuraCoat finish, was applied very consistent and even, and is actually a whole lot darker than in the pics(too much lighting). It actually, very much resembles old school Colt gray anodizing:

@Dobs013- braceman got back to me overnight. He already has a fsgb to try it on. I offered to have one shipped from PRI to him to see what happens. A sacrificial fsgb so to speak but he said he has one to try it on that he will see how it goes and get a cost for us. I told him I'm sure there would be a few people wanting these done. I will get 2-3 myself. I've had zero luck finding one. Even the reproduction unit other than buying it new.

Awesome! I'm only going to need one....unfortunately with the cost of my late mod 0 stacking daily it's probably going to be my only mk12. Well I'm probably gonna put a holland together at some point unless I cave and build a recce with a chopped barrel.....GBOF has been killing me with his posts in the recce thread. Let me know how you want to do it as far as collecting all the fsb's. I can Paypal you the funds when everything is ready and you can order the fsb's or I can by it and ship it to you....whatever is easier for you.

No we are trying to replicate the correct set screw fsb for a late mod 0 with the gen 3 tube. Essentially we are just going to have the "PRI USA" engraving milled off and have the proper earlier engravings added by braceman with the full address. Aside from the engraving the set screw fsb's sold now are identical to the ones for a late mod 0. If you're gonna do it might as well go all out

anybody know a place (preferably around SWPA) that's got the AEM5 in stock? I'd rather not have to buy it somewhere else and add months to an already idiotic wait.

If not how bout a place in general that has them? ADCO is sold out.

It shouldn't remove very much. The engraving isn't that deep. The only thing I am not 100% on is what the inside of the tower looks like. As long as there isn't a huge cavity in there we should be good.

LOL.  We can't do memes?  Bummer.  I only have a few....

I do have an on topic question.  Which doesn't have much to do with anything other than I've been buying a few magpul things lately.   For some reason I can't for the life of me remember seeing a magpul stock on a Mk12 Mod1 or Mod 0.  Seems like fixed and SOPMODs are the majority.  And then the CAR stock on some Mod 0's.  But now I'm thinking, maybe it's time to go back through the thread.  Yikes.  LOL.

Maybe somebody can fill me in.  I know we got the Hollands with STR's ACSs.  And you see a lot of CTRs on M4's maybe block II's, block whatever really.  Probably CTR's on CQBR's, (although now that I'm thinking of that, I'm not sure).

Anyways....   ACS, CTR, STR on a Mk12???  Seems like I don't recall seeing that.  Other than that pic with the UBR, couple pages back.  Guy prone.

What about those early towers from the fb page? Were they hollow or do we know? Cant imagine the late 0 has much inside, probably pretty thick by the one i felt and had for a week, and not having the wheel makes a difference as well

i don't think it is....the only material missing should be from the sight post. There should be enough there to mill and re-engrave. If this works, that's the last piece of the puzzle for cone correctness on my upper. So crossing my fingers. If it's a no-go I'll just keep searching and live with the cross bolt version until I find the right one.

you can order direct from Ron Allen. He was cool enough to work with my NFA place, Ron worked with them so I'll have a serial number as soon as the form 3 starts, so I'll be filing my form 4 a few days after that and killing that 5-6 week wait.

I went with #22s for the sake of clone correctness, but yeah, that sounds like typical ARMs Tri-Lock mounts.

Some will require a pair of pliers to get off, others will flop open, Some will snap the throw lever when taking them on off, others will explode into
several components if they smack against hard objects. Contact ARMs and they will send you a replacement, however.

I've wrecked a few. Here's one ARMS "Exploder" from over ten years ago:

This one was holding an Aimpoint M68 to an M4. The carbine was leaned up against a wall, and when it tipped over, the result is what you see. The explosive separation
of the mount components was.............Glorious!

Holding off since I figure I should finish my build first. Kinda really want though.

I consider myself to be a master at weaseling things out of vendors...but I hadn't thought of that...good idea.

I'm on day 30 from my $520 AEM-5 from DSG's sale back at the beginning of March.  Not that I'm in a MASSIVE rush of course, but....would be nice to know it's on the way to my dealer.  I'm just concerned cause now they show backordered and I don't know if they set one aside for me or what.

Good god.

Who wants to let me in on some FB action? Still sorting out the last of the parts for my Mod1 build and could use another source to search.

Braceman says he will try the fsgb mod this weekend. I'm sure he can do it. It's very simple compared to what I've seen him do.
The bore guides should be done by next Thursday is what they said.

Sweet. Yeah I think we'll be good. I'm happy I'm finally going to have a set screw fsb....I am not looking forward to pulling the barrel. I should've just waited and sent it out before I assembled it....but being impatient bit me again...haha. I figured I would've learned by now.

Honestly, you just saved yourself the trouble of driving out the old arms for the new adjustable ones.  Aside from my Mk 12 scope, I've swapped just about all ARMS... arms (ha) on my optics mounts (rings, Elcan, etc.) for their version 2 models.  Driving the old ones out can be a PITA when there isn't a clear path above the pin to set your drift.

I just won't paint a transferable M16a1!

You know if you are really going to clone the fucker its a 32-36K rifle if you do it on a transferable A1.

I saw that and thought here we go..."none of you guys are clone-correct because you don't have 'real' select fire lowers, therefore my UTG rail is good to go"...we had that argument a while back.
