I FINALLY get to play!

This will be a two stamper once I get my Form 1 back for the SBR - for now, it'll just have to play pretend (look closely to see stock is not attached but is sitting in front of pistol tube.)

Yes, the Pmag is functional - only able to get 24 rounds in it - but after about 8 hours of cutting down the S&W and hollowing out the Pmag it'll have to do!  Works great too, after tweaking the springs a bit and chopping the follower down to nothing.

40 rounders would work perfectly BTW, hardly have to cut the keeper on the bottom of S&W.

Specs-

San Tan Tactical blem lower (though I still don't see the "blem")
TACCOM dedicated upper
TACCOM bolt
4" TACCOM barrel
TACCOM Pressure Plug
Better Mag Adapter w/S&W mags
Seekins 7" MCSR
BAD-CASS 45 degree short throw lever
CMC 3.5lb single stage trigger
Magpul BAD lever (heavily modified to work with San Tan Tactical lower)
Bushnell TRS-25
Magpul MBUS
Soon to be CTR stock (though I really want a Nordic CRS - PM me if you have one, WILL BUY)
Generic Pistol tube with
Magpul pistol grip
PMAG (Heavily modified to accept 24rnds)

Suppresor - Silencerco Sparrow with 1/2 *28 x 1/2"*28 adapter (essentially a spacer)

Inspiration from an earlier picture by carbonfly - very nice!

Everyone tried to talk me into a S&W M&P 15-22, and yes, they are very nice rifles for what they are - a plastic gun.

I get so tired of spending money on plastic....no offense as I own a few polymers and they are very nice guns, but wanted to have a "real" AR in 22, no cheap lightweight....mission accomplished!

How long have you had that lower? I didn't think they have been out for 6 months yet.
Link Posted: 5/18/2014 8:30:17 PM EDT
[Last Edit: azscooby] [#12]
PF - no, not out 6 months yet.

If you're implying about a possible NFA item (SBR) and the wait time and therefore not possible for it to be NFA yet since they are about 13-15 months out right now, please re-read the post you will see that the stock is not attached, nor is there means to attach it (pistol tube.)

The stock is in front of the pistol tube (faster than a photoshop job).  I took the pic to show what I was building and how it would turn out.  I actually tried to set it up so it would look obvious, but Murphy's Law and all (try to make it look fake and it fools everyone )

I'm not willing to risk federal prison, so I have no intention on attaching the stock until the paperwork comes in.....just got done waiting for the Silencerco Sparrow, 10.5 months!

Been lurking for a while. Here is my 22.
Mostly a budget job; a lot of the parts are spares from other builds I've done.
ATI lower with PSA LPK, MFT grip, Seekins Zombie green bullet button.
PSA stripped blem upper with CMMG 22LR coversion kit, CMMG charging handle, dedicated CMMG 22LR 16" barrel, custom engraved dust cover from tacticalgearjunkie and cheap eBay free float.
Better-Mag adapter with S&W magazines.

I built a 22lr AR a couple of months back. PSA Lower and a Core15 MOE Upper. You can see the mods I made in the picture below. Troy Alpha 15" rail, Raptor Charging Handle, Spike Battle Trigger, Magpul Furniture.

Updated Pic with Suppressor and Vltor Stock: Over 1K flawless rounds fired with the Black Dod X Form Mag and American Eagle Suppressor Ammo. Zero recoil, just slings out the rounds like a sewing machine. Rifle doesn't move, barely makes a sound, it is surreal to shoot.

I am making a similar build. I wanted to ask, have you shot it un suppressed?

Can you feel the heat from the .22 blast if you run it bare?

Is it preferable to run a mock suppressor when running un suppressed?

Thanks!

Just zeroed in this new 2moa Primary Arms Micro on the ole Noveske 22. Fun times, and just barely had my first FTF on this rifle. Picked up the round and it looked like a dud, so this rifle has been nothing but flawless.

Changed it up and trying different things.  Make a custom rail out of an old YHM rail.

This thing is so sick! I'm so happy that sig came out with their arm brace, because now it's a viable build.  4.5" CMMG barrel and bolt.  Anderson lightweight upper. Old noveske rail that I chopped down.  Rail came with an old upper I bought and the previous owner really goobered it up, so I didn't feel so bad chopping it down.  Borrowed the optic from another build I rarely shoot, but once AIM gets more Primary Arms microdot bases in stock, I'll take one of my extra PA Microdots and pop it on there.

Only issue I've had was one cartridge got stuck in the small part of the CMMG 22lr charging handle that is relieved for a gas tube.  I was thinking of filling it with epoxy.

Still it's probably one of the most fun guns I've ever owned.  I hope we can form 1 SBRs in my state. (Right now it's up in the air.)

Oh yeah, I forgot.  I'm running an old SWR Spectre can, which sounds fantastic.

Took nearly 4-5 years to gather the parts but I finally assembled my dedicated 22lr AR.

-CMMG 16" barrel w/ MOE SL Handguards
-CMMG Stainless steel conversion kit w/ BHOA
-Busnell TRS-25 w/ UTG High Riser

Sighted it in at a 25 yard indoor range yesterday and it runs smoothly like a sewing machine.

Last thing on the list is the Boonie Packer Better Mag adapter and some 15-22 magazines.

Built it for the wife. Will probably throw on the cheap primary arms 1-4 scope

CMMG upper & Sparrow.
It'll fire out of battery and is a jam-o-matic with bulk pack ammo. Runs like a top, and very quiet, with Mini Mags.

So glad I built a 22AR vs the MP 15-22. The weight & feel is amazing! By far my favorite AR. 100% reliable after a quick 400 rounds to check function.

Taccom steel 16" barrel (looks like a pinned 14.5" because of the barrel length inside the receiver)
Taccom collar
CMMG bolt

Have lots of 15-22 mags so I am just waiting to get the Better-mag adapter installed for bolt hold open since the lower has no other home. Then the BDMs will be reserved for other lowers.
