Yes it is an RCO mount, but I put the ACOG on a carbine. The 20" has a carry handle iron sight now. The M16A4 uses an F marked post (I'm pretty sure), but this is a bushmaster FSP to match the rear carry handle. That's why I said copy, as opposed to a clone. I'm not very particular about clone specifications. |

I have a DD Omega 12 on my BCM 20" as well. If you don't want to remove the delta ring assembly or handguard cap, I think it's the best option around for a free floating quad rail.
However, if you don't mind swapping barrel nuts or removing the delta ring/handgaurd cap, there are other options I'd prefer. |

I have wondered for years what's the bag(?) on most of your AR's? I guess that you don't want any brass to get away. Do you make those?

SureFire Mini Scouts are in a lot of units believe it or not, the black ones with the thumbscrew. Many Marines also buy SureFire Scouts with their own money. Many older SureFire are in use too, of various models. This was my personal experience anyway.

I saw all of kinds of light setups and I personally used the good old Surefire G2 with a tapeswitch. Carrying around a mounted Surefire M 952 or M961 for any length of time will make a Surefire G2, 6p or Scout seem like a feather. I must confess to having just bought an M961 on eBay for my A4 clone that I am almost finished with. It's just as heavy and underpowered as I remember. |

The AN/PEQ-16 series and the Surefire M961XM07 before it are, as far as I've know, the "standard" or "program" or "record" lights for the USMC, in the same way that the Surefire M951XM07 and M952VXM07 are the current Army standard lights.
A lot of units now and in the past, however, have, through various means purchased and/or acquired other lights - usually through unit purchases and/or ONS/UNS purchases of functional alternatives. This also relates primarily to conventional line forces - specialty units will often purchase their own stuff outside of "standard," and SOCOM has its own system entirely. Then, there are personally purchased/owned items... ~Augee |

I am thinking about selling the M961XM07 I just bought for my A4 clone and going with the new Surefire 6P in the 1" ring - for a sort of "field expedient modification, E3 peculiar" light set up. The M961 feels like a brick when attached to the end of my A4 clone, but it could be just me still being fairly week from my Afghanistan injury back in 2012. Oh, and thanks to you, Augee, I am now working on a MEUSOC 1911 clone. I just spent an entire week scrolling through your MEUSOC thread and taking notes, and hoping to figure out the best approach. Do you have any words of wisdom you can share in a PM now that it has been several years later? |

I'm very familiar with the 6P/1" Weaver Ring solution.
I haven't kept up with the MEU(SOC) thread in a while, .45 ACP's been too expensive, and just been too busy, but I'll share what I can if you want to shoot me a PM! ~Augee |

Thanks for the info man, I'm just providing information based on my time while I was in, trying to give people options based on what's I saw in wide spread usage. Augee, also, you have an outstanding MEUSOC pistol, I'd like to start one to accompany my M45. Speaking of 20" rifles though, does anyone have a goos source for Colt A2 style rifles? They seem rare, I know they're out of production.
