I have a question for those who have a Mod 0, M951, and suppressor. How bad of a shadow does the suppressor cast with the M951?

Yeah it's pretty much a foregone conclusion, really planning to paint the entire time... just briefly considered leaving it black ~ Navy-style :).  Already got the Obliterating Tan, just need to decide what other Aervoe colors to use.  Gotta paint a MK12 too although I probably lean more towards green on it.

Gotta say, I never really got the Elcan thing, but was able to look though one today.  It was like going from SD to to HDTV... I was amazed at the clarity compared to ACOG, Aimpont, etc.

It was hard for me to keep a gun black for so long actually.

I think they look good, but the painted ones look better. Especially when they wear down. You can pretty much walk through my flickr and see the wear over time.

You just missed out on a UID sticker purchase organized through the Clone Builds page on Facebook. It literally closed last week.  Not sure when they are going to do another one.

How much is it usually to get a barrel chopped, recrowned, threaded, and gas port opened up at adco? I see it says $65 on their website for threading and recrowning, but does that include gas port modification?

First time posting in this thread. I've read just over a third of it. Please be gentle. Just wanted to show what this thread has inspired me to build.

Mostly put together with parts that I had. I actually sold a KAC RAS last year before I decided on building this and the MK18 RIS is out of my budget. The muzzle brake and homemade suppressor are from SD Tactical. Those are the big faults for the clone. The other bits are my preference. Hopefully someday it will be a more-true clone.

Anyone have the actual gas port size of the 10.3" BA Hanson barrel?

Do you know what absolutely blows my mind?

The MK18 is one of the most popular type of ARs and not a single barrel mfg makes an affordable 10.3" barrel advertised with a proper .070" gas port.  I imagine they'd sell like hot cakes.

Yes, they are legit and straight from the factory.

MNRidesHonda posted pics of his barrel from Deleted by moderator. Per the owners of this forum, links to this site and or vendor are not allowed. , complete with 0.070 gas port and all.

The SAW barrels are also legit, but they are altered by SAW. I can personally attest to them having an opened-up gas port and re-parkerizing the FSB pin "holes." These are part of the "reliability enhancements" but I don't know what else is done.

For my money moving forward, I'm only getting Colt 10.3s from the site you linked or doing a cut-down so that I can control the port size. I'd also do the .mil Daniel Defense barrels, but those only appeared one time.

Like I said it's definitely not a clone. I substituted and used parts that I prefer. The only thing I would like to change immediately is the rail. I'm currently scouring the EE looking for a cheap beat up one. I just wanted to share what this giant thread made me build. I have a history of building guns based on clones but never have gone all out.

This thread was the inspiration for my build.

I guess mine is just an "inspired" build since the trigger guard, pistol grip, stock, sling mount, barrel, and muzzle device are wrong. Once my stamp comes in I'll be using an F1 suppressor (hince the YHM QD mount).

I love the way this thing is set up and will only be changing out the M951 mount for an offset/slightly extented mount.

I'm currently scouring the EE looking for a cheap beat up one. I just wanted to share what this giant thread made me build. I have a history of building guns based on clones but never have gone all out.

<a href="http://s43.photobucket.com/user/lostman518/media/191EBF57-98F7-4025-B0FD-A9ACB3FAF141_zpsgfsp9nv5.jpg.html" target="_blank">http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e363/lostman518/191EBF57-98F7-4025-B0FD-A9ACB3FAF141_zpsgfsp9nv5.jpg</a>

That is sick, exactly how I want to build my next one

What mount are you using for that M951?

IIRC he said it was an old LT mount.

That's correct, thanks

Your pistol is more correct than my rifle brother. Looks good.

Thank you sir! I just wish PRI would make a left handed gas buster..

Geissele sells a Raptor type charging handle that acts as a gas buster I believe.  Haven't seen a video or read a review of it yet.  Super expensive though and not clone correct although Raptor charging handles have been shown in pictures by OD Diver who assembles CQBRs. (did I get his member name wrong?)

I actually had a raptor on it before but the clone bug bit me hard..

Going from a left handed charging handle like the raptor to a right handed one is tough.. I thought I could retrain my muscle memory but it's turning out to be rather challenging..

if anyone is interested in a PRI M84.. send me an email if you want!
