I use a crowfoot socket/wrench............looks like an open end wrench, but made to fit a ratchet or torque wrench............bought it at AutoZone for about 4.95 I believe.

I think the NT4 would be alright for the Mod 0 as well. If I'm not mistaken i think they used the KAC NT4 flash hider and not the A2?

IIRC it's 19mm, I used a combo wrench.

It's actually 3/4. The crowsfoot that Snap On makes fits perfectly. I've used one on both of mine.

Eh, I'd still run one. No point In having the NT4 FH and not running an NT4 solely for seen in the wild. Pop can off, back to seen in the wild.

That's what I was thinking, what's the purpose unless you need the mounting ability? Especially since the difference in cost is astronomical even with bulk gov discounts

I feel like they were intended to have cans (even if just Originally intended)

The NT4 flash hider costs 20 times more than the A2, so I really think they wanted NT4 compatibility even though I can't remember if I've seen one installed. I'll go through my pics.

Thus just doesn't add up to me.

You already bought the wrong can so a $100 stock shouldn't be too bad.

Yeah, like I said.  Overpriced piece of shit...  Not paying that much for a Surefire just to have a Surefire.  The AAC can has A higher db reduction, no waiting on stock, and costs half as much.  I'm all for clone correct to a point, but  Fuck all that fan boy shit.   I remember on page 500 or so, i was told "a can is a can."

Well a can is not a can when it's never been seen on an issued rifle.

Gen 1 out of spec stocks that you can find for like $35 or $40. I've bought both  my Gen 1s for that price.

You don't need to buy a $100 stock.  Just put a Magpul stock on it, or a cheap M4 stock.  Both were used.

It's not too late brother. NT4 or bust.

I've been told directly by many surefire reps who I was dealing with when I used my coupon that it has no expiration and can be used more than once, so when things iron out and I have some money to spend I may try to get another one.

I was just hanging out with friends who work there, I didn't work at the place either lol.

If I could only own 1 can, NT4. Also, I dig your new RIS II mount - up plate avatar, even though it's a little fuzzy.

Too late for me.  I can't justify two cans for the same caliber.  Or selling this one for an NT4, since the man takes another $200 off my hands...

So these lowers that started their lives as 80 percenters that went on to be sweet looking engraved clone lowers, where could I get one?

ETA Just any old 80% lower?  Or is there a preference? Think I'll bite the bullet on the 80% route.

Braceman for the engraving.  I would guess any 80 percenter would do.

Apologies in advance if this has already been posted.  I learned about the EOTech 553 due to this thread, so figured you guys would be interested.

USSOCOM Issues Safety of Use Message for EOTech Enhanced Combat Optical Sights – Plus More Goings On

"While there is a great deal of information in the SOUM, two glaring issues stick out. The first is the reliability of the HWS in extreme temperatures, referred to as “Thermal Drift”. The PMO has noted a +/- 4 MOA shift at -40 Deg F and 122 Deg F. Second, is the concern over the claim by EOTech that their HWS are parallax free which was the subject of a previous Safety of Use Message from the same office issued 16 March, 2015. In this case they noted between 4 and 6 MOA parallax error depending on temperature conditions. Despite the PMO working with EOTech to rectify the issues, they still have not been resolved."
