Do you have pictures of M4/M4A1 carbines that were actually issued/used in US military service with the standard plastic handguard+M68 or ACOG?
Cant find any...either they don't exist or maybe I'm just too stupid |

Just got another Specialized Armament Warehouse Colt M4 upper with the 14.5 civilian legal mod. Built another M4 (this one is all Colt as well).

Freaking love it. Hey, what model is that Eotech and how much does it weigh? I rarely see them, but I always thought they might shave a little weight since they are smaller, but not sure how much.
Also, you may know this, but the MOE stock, do you know if a milspec tube moe stock is shorter than a commercial one? I might make a thread. |

View Quote That is an older Eotech (as you've spotted) and I think it's quite light, but not sure if lighter than the current XPS3 or however it's called. I have a couple of the newer ones as well, might try and scale them to see. I think the length is the same between the tubes; the thickness isn't and the end of the tube is also different in that, the commercial (if I remember well) has a sort of diagonal cut to it, while the mil spec is cut straight? |

My interpretation of the rifle specs outlined in the M4A1 Plus RFQ that was ultimately cancelled. 14.7 FN SOCOM barrel, carbine length gas with fixed AAC 51T flash hider mount. Geissele Mk8 13" MLOK rail BCM ambi charging handle Troy folding BUIS Aimpoint T2 on DD lite fixed mount. Super handy and smooth shooting. |

I had always wanted to test the Magpul UBR stock. They have a new generation out GEN2 UBR, but I don't like it. So I got me a NOS UBR Gen 1.

Niiiiiice. When I had an AP PRO, I had it mounted in the same position as yours. But you don't see it that far back very much on other peoples guns. For me it helped with balance. But it was on an HBAR.

Ah, OK. Sorry that I misinterpreted.
#1. It's the range I was at. If I want to shoot further than the berm there, I'd have to pick up and relocate. We were mostly shooting pistols that day. I can shoot at 33 yards approx if I set my target up on the berm. I sometimes have zero'd there. #2. The guns primary role is home defense, and it's second to my pistols anyways. #3. My front sight is starting to be pretty far up as it is. When I zero'd it, I was sort of taken aback by how much higher it is than my carry handle and had to raise the sight to bring it down to even that level. So I may just stick with it zero'd at 25 meters because of #2 and #3. Plus #4. But usually I zero my guns at 50. Or sometimes I dial in 4 clicks in my A2 rear and zero at 25 meters. It gives me some options. #4. With the M4gery, thpe short sight radius is kind of hard for me. And a couple of years ago I discovered that a 6 oclock hold is not a bad idea when shooting at 100 yards. At my range the 100 yard range is under a cover. I don't get as much sunlight and when I shoot at 100 with the M4gery and irons, I really struggle to see a crisp front sight and the target. A rifle is much easier. Under the sun it's not as bad, but under that cover....... Ugh. If I focus on the front sight the target becomes so blurry that I can even tell what's going on. So I started looking at the target, and putting the fuzzy post underneath the target. It seemed to work relatively OK. #5. I just like shooting there. Lots of good times on that 25 meter range. |

While I'm trying to search, perhaps someone can answer this for me. Is there any reason NOT to get a Colt 6921 upper and use it for my M4 clone? I'd need someone to pin/weld. I saw someone list SAW, but they're a bit more than I'd expect for one of those uppers, even after pin/weld of the flash hider.

|
Bullets, bourbon and buoyancy. Not necessarily in that order.
|
6920 is pretty much the gold standard, from what I can tell. You could send it to ADCO for pin and weld.
