That's just uncalled for. Knocking another's gun after he put time and money into it is like insulting another man's kids. You just don't do it. Where's your photos at? As I own Page 3 I better post another... Not an M4 but an N4 and we all know that N'leness is next to Godliness |

what is the difference between an m4 and other ar15s?
Grenade ring cut in barrel is the key difference.

What's the red tape for? To signal that it's not real?
I assume you're talking about the red tape on the stock and VFG of my service rifle?
If that's the case, it was for identification. Just a simple way for everyone to know which rifle was mine. ~Augee |

awsome Augee!
you only need a HMMWV now |
can anyone post a pic of a grenade ring cut in a barrell so i can understand what the difference is between an m4 and other ARs?

My new M&P. Thus far this has been an awesome gun.

Look at the barrel of the above picture. Look behind the flash hider, about 3 inches and you will see a "step down" cut onto the surface of the barrel. It was cut there so the ring of a grenade launcher (M203) mount will fit onto the barrel.

I think you might be missing a few pieces.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=19&t=214547
thread started about the technique i used. krylon camo colors. base coat tan. once dry cover with pine needles and then spray green. after that dries, cover with needles in different direction and spray brown. final step is flat clear coat. took about an hour. i used a handful of pine needles and sprayed brown in diagonal stripes. the pics in the thread used twice as many needles as i used. i wanted a more green tone than tan. i started with 1 of my mags til i got the look i was looking for. hope it helps |

looks a lot darker in person and greener
