Irons are the reason I have my A4 clone :) you can always buy another ACOG, and you might as well sell it now while the tritium is bright. Also, What sling adapter is on your stock? thanks |

Yeah I was thinking if selling and just using irons on this rifle.
I'd put the cash towards another rifle or handgun maybe. Its a specter gear sling attachment thing. |

Keep the optic. Love the NSN on an A4. Just gonna put the money towards another toy you'll get to shoot just as little? Might as well have one you can be proud of. Unless you really just don't care for the optic. Then get rid of it.

Correct ACOG should be a TA31RCOA4 (USMC), but the Army and AF may spec a different one.. |

I want to fund a home defense carbine, and will be looking to trade for an M1 Carbine, since I'm not comfortable using EBRs for HD here in CA :( Luckily, shooting a 20" with irons is awesome. |

I just got in an LMT rear sight off the EE for my A4.
The sight housing feels plastic. Did I get burned? Or is this what LMT does? |

Maybe its Al I'll double check
the aperture feels dainty compared to steel. can these be swapped with the steel sight housing from a carry handle? Edit: yep, it's aluminum. Feels super tawdry.... |

anyone have a picture of a Larue Index clips on the KAC rail in place of the panels?

I've been through three BCM 20"ers now...I'm stone cold.
It's an excess rifle right now. Eventually I'll buy a Colt AR15A4 and probably keep it long term. |

I picked up one of the new Colt AR15-A4s and put a Leupold MARK 4 MR/T 2.5-8X36MM Illuminated TMR scope on it with ARMS QD mounts.......My question is: Operator aside, what performance should I expect out of this set up?
Do you think I really need to go with the free float KAC rail, the Douglas barrel and the Mk12 gas block system? I did also added a nice Harris bipod and KAC M5 rail to my rifle. I plan to really only shoot steel out to say 500 yards. Cheers. |

View Quote I can't speak on the Colt 20" barrel, but I would imagine with match ammo and good fundamentals you could hold at least 1 minute. Luckygunner.com usually has CBC 77gr OTM for about 55 cents per round shipped. Its a good clone of mk262, and I can get 1/2 minute out of it with my Douglas 18" 1:7 Ive read that the Colt barrels really perform better than most people think. Edit: Unless you're looking to make a SAMR clone (which would be tight as piss), I'd keep it an A4 clone and build/buy a Mk12. Or, Pick up a used Daniel Defense LITE 12.0 for it and put the saved cash towards ammo. |

Lots of people distrust the ARMS mounts. I am one of them. I would dump the ARMS mount and use a LaRue, or a Bobro.
