Sourcing parts may be harder than I thought. Turns out the upper receiver I have has m4 feed ramps and a lot the manufactures sell barrels with m4 extensions

If Colt AR15A4 URGs come back in stock, they are pretty close to being correct. They have M4 feedramps and the FSB is not marked. FN CHF barrels are nice but no FSB so pretty expensive. |

FYI, Colt has continued the AR15A4 with rifle stock and 20” barrel, but they stopped production of the lowers marked AR-15A4, and now simply say “Carbine” like their 6920’s do. |

I guess one could use the complete upper and remove the buttstock then sell the lower. |

The FN uppers on GB have m4 extensions and ramps and DTS no longer has any Saber upper kits left, there remaining stock are now being sold as completed Rifles with M16A3 markings which are too rich for me. My first attempt ended up turning into a A5 concept build with a BA nitride 20" govt barrel with a pinned ARMS foldable FSB, and DD Omega 12 rail hence the spare M5 RAS. I'm in no hurry but something tells me if I can get a CHF or Button FN Barrel, I'll have a F marked FSB pinned and call it a day. M16A3 |

If I decide that I like having this more than an A4 clone, I'm planning on having the lower engraved with an E5 after the M16A5 (to make it like an experimental version) and then possibly/probably an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on the right side of the magwell. Not decided just yet though. View Quote |

Is an all-black Insight M3X acceptable on an A4? Inquiring mins wanna know...

Missed out on the complete colt A4 upper that was suggested which would have been a lot cheaper. So the more harder route it is. Making progress, got a Colt 20" Government Profile barrel, Colt delta ring assembly, and a Colt C AF marked upper receiver with no m4 feed ramps. I was hoping to find a barrel with a rifle extension but doubt I can find one at a reasonable price. Looking for a Colt F Marked FSB if they exist in the wild and will ship out to get pinned and maybe swap out the bcm carry handle for a Colt later.
Would retrorifle FSB be a good option? I've only seen F marked FSB that been removed but those are out of stock. Colt barrel and upper receiver |

Does anyone know where I can get an upper without M4 feed ramps? I have a barrel that has an F marked FSB but a rifle extension.

The A4 seems a lot like a retro USAF carbine. Anything goes! |

An Army M16A4 has a red dot versus a USMC M16a4 with ACOG? I prefer Army.

Bummer, hopefully I don’t get the one you returned. I’ll post some pics when I get it. Shark seems well regarded on arfcom so I went with him.

Yeah, used to be GTG. I got a lot of Colt receivers and BCGs from him in the past but it seems he is selling things that aren't as advertised.
|
|

I’ll give him a shot, hopefully I’m happy with it. If not, where else could I get a surplus/clone correct A2 stock? I was looking at Numrich, might try this one if I don’t like the new production FN kit from Shark.

Gunbroker. Search A2 stock and similar terms. Brownell's has a new Colt one which is surely better than the commercial stuff you can get other places.

From what I've read, this might be one of the harder parts to find. Is this larue mount the correct mount for an m16a4 with an acog, or SDO? Is there any particular reason they went with the levers on the other side? Is it so it can work together with a matech rear sight? I ask because I've had issues with larue mounts locking lever not closing due to the design of the matech buis. Attached File Attached File |

The stock trijicon mount, or larue? Just the TA51. I did use a LaRue ACOG mount on my personal rifle with the levers on the left and I had to remove the locking thing for it to clear my BUIS. It wasn't a KAC but is a similar profile. I don't know if they would have cleared on the right. |

If I remember correctly knobs were ordered to be moved over to the right side because it interfered w/ "slapping" the bolt catch.

Does a KAC micro buy me another rail slot back versus the matech? The KAC is more correct for my rco-a4 but honestly I am thinking running no sight to get the acog where I want it..
