With just a dot sight and Magpul Buis. It is in .300 Blk. I do handload for it (125gr Serria SPs.) I took off the 'hand support fin' and it has a regular buffer tube... just to go by ATF regs (even with the court cases.)

Well, the question.

My understanding is you cannot put a FIXED STOCK of any kind on it that attaches to the pistol, least it becomes a SBR!

Now I have seen Glock non-attaching stocks that you have to sit on the back of the grip and hold it there by grip pressure. If you let go of the grip the stock falls off.

So... if you get a bit of PVC, with an end cap, and it drops onto the buffer tube, but is NOT ATTACHED by any means, even by friction, is that legal?

Just wondering!!!

Without submitting a design sample to the ATF technical branch for review, it would be open to interpretation and argument in court should you get caught with it and charged.

Besides, if it's loose and rattling on the buffer tube, I'd imagine it'd be more annoying to use than just putting the bare tube up to your shoulder instead.

Why use PVC?  I have a pistol style buffer tube on my AR.  A conventional telescoping stock won't fit on it currently, as I have it wrapped with paracord.  It would fit on if the paracord was removed, and wouldn't be fixed.  Might have to rig up some thing to get the length right but that wouldn't be too difficult.  Would that be legal?  I don't know, and I won't find out until some one else tries it.

Rhett Neumayer has done some very interesting work with a very different concept. Worth a try.
