My 450Bushmaster, just got the FDE shot yesterday and assembled today.

I will finish the pinestraw camo job tomorrow, and then some flat clear.

All done in Duracoat.

So how close is the VLTOR FDE to the Magpul FDE?

I really like this stock... I have one in Black, but just bought a bunch of Magpul FDE Furniture...

Thanks calicojack! The mount is made by Elzetta. I believe they're on Arfcom. It's a nice, simple, cheap mount especially for KISS builds. Their FDE matches Magpul's pretty well too.

Nice.... there is just something RIGHT about this whole gun!

About the light mount, how are you activating the light?  With the front sling attachement?  Have you considered using a tape switch of any sort?

Any idea what the mount weighs comared to a regular ol' mount?  Price?  Enquiring minds want to know!

Can someone tell me what that M4s moderator is? It looks like a suppressor. Maybe it is and I'm just having a moment of stupidity here.

Haha, I know what you mean. It's my favorite AR to just...look at

I'm activating the light with the joint (one closest to the finger nail) of my left hand index finger. I believe Elzetta actually designed it so you CAN use the front sling attachment to activate the light, but I prefer to just push the button myself. Since my front sling attachment is very stiff, i don't like to use it for momentary-on, but because it is so stiff, it's great for constant on. I can just pivot the front sling attachment forward so it's pressed up against the flashlight's button, and it'll stay there.

Since the AR is carbine length, the reach is very comfortable (and I don't have abnormally long arms). I wanted to keep this build as simple as possible so I didn't want to put a tape switch. Besides, I'm not to big of a fan of tape switches (though it is definitely a possibility if you would like one!).

The mount weighs VERY little since it's entirely made out of lightweight glass-filled nylon (besides the screws and nuts). People in another forum have shot many rounds with it on, and it hasn't melted or been damaged. If anything, the light you choose will determine the weight mostly. It comes with inserts so it accommodates multiple diameter flash lights, and the FDE matches great with Magpul's FDE. And the best part, it's only $25.00! Rainier has them in stock in Black, FDE, and OD green.

Does Krylon or other paint mfg make a spray paint color that matches FDE?

I'll be needed to paint a hand guard in a few weeks.

Thanks,

It's a Konus M30 1x-4x. It's not a bad little scope for the price. The glass is really nice for an optic at this price point.

I paid $219 from Midway. They have them on clearance right now for $201. Konus M30 @ Midway

My first complete build, just need to order a rear buis.  The FDE Troy I had doesn't match the FDE LaRue Troy:

And with FDE tacti-kittah!  She hurt her butt a couple of weeks ago but, the vet took care of it.

It's this one:

I shaved the right side loop/hole off with a dremel tool.  Then filed it smooth, and re-painted it.
