Dropped off my upper today for Cerakote in "Colt Gray" which is a color they didn't have. Hoping to get it back by the middle of the month.

Not sure if it's been discussed here but I just watched The Bourne Identity (first movie of the series) and noticed the Embassy personnel were using full dissipators (rifle length stock) to clear the building. The movie was made in 2002. Any historical relevance there?

I don't think so but iirc those are actual MSG.

I'm not aware of MSG ever using dissipators.

Bourne Identity used what M16 looking rifles the armorers could find. As discussed here.

Can't remember if I posted this or not:

It came together over a number of years. I also can't remember much detail of the build. Carbine or mid-length gas, clamp-on gas block and FSB. I tried an A1 stock at one point and found it too short for my orangutan arm length. Also tried a classic carry handle but I like this rock river arms thing.

ETA - No forward assist, miculek comp, DSG arms nickel coated BCG, Radian or raptor charging handle, ambi safety (forward control design?), BCM grip?

Updates on the SIR Rail Dissy:

Rediscovered a Cerakote color I developed to match a tone in the XM2010 chassis. I'm calling it "Pyrite." It's a subdued gold with a tendency to shift color tone from yellow, to green, to gray, and is soft against a high-desert scrub background. Shown for comparison next to LMT tanodizing that many are familiar with.

Working on a mystery color for the receivers now, then it should be ready for assembly.

Back story: I wanted that XM2010 color for my AI AX chassis. Turns out, it looks pretty decent, and is versatile.
